The thing is, the guy starts off reasonably well in his argument, but then it all goes downhill. The issues faced by men are literally all enforced by the toxic masculinity provided by a patriarchal society, but here they are going, "Yes it's nice that women have all these shiny new rights and have been able to grow, but nothing has changed for men and we want more things, too"

A shiny leaf isn't really anything special, to be honest. If you have a good bond with your Pokemon, you can sometimes find them holding one. You get five of them on the same Pokemon and your rival makes a crown out of them for you. That's really about it. I'm not sure if it shows when you transfer them, so I'm currently testing that out.
