hii, can you write something about the reader interacting w alex's family please??
You never quite got over celebrating with the Skarsgards, even for events that weren’t usually your favorite. You had a tendency to stray away from your own family escapades, unless it was immediate, but with Alex’s family, their gatherings felt natural. And regardless, there was no way Alex would ever let you live down missing something this big. His little baby brother was becoming a daddy. And Stellan was doing everything in his power to plan the most wonderful shower for Bill, because how could he not? Everyone was to be there to celebrate the new Skarsbaby. Honestly, you loved kids, but baby showers, were not your thing. They felt orchestrated to you and you usually had a habit of getting utterly fucked up at them, but for Bill, you would make the exception.
Of course, Stellan Skarsgard was not planning an orchestrated, simple baby shower. The entire thing once again felt wonderfully effortless, yet over the top. The event space was immense, white candles of different sizes graced the floor and delicate, minimal flower arrangements were placed on each table. Place cards were set. There was every type of pastry you could imagine, even a bar to get a hand rolled cigar. Yes, Gustaf tried to convince him out of that, said it wasn’t a wedding, just a shower, for a baby. And that Bill didn’t even want anything that big. But let’s be real, it’s Bill, we’re speaking of here, and he is having a baby. It was going to be some shade of over the top, even Alex knew that. Everything was some shade of cream or taupe, from the soft linen curtains that hung from tall windows on high, vaulted ceilings, to the three tiered cake that was presented beautifully in the front of the room. The lighting was comfortable, a soft haze and it felt like you were captured in a warm hug when you step foot inside.
“What’s in your cup?” you questioned Valter, pointedly. You had both ended up at the bar, and everyone was mingling around. Alex was somewhere screaming about how Bill is going to dress the baby, probably in fucking sweaters, and what not, Bill is in the crowd, laughing with one of his third cousins and reluctantly being pulled away to socialize with someone else mid conversation. “Ginger ale.” Valter responded without a blink. You narrowed your eyes at Alex’s younger brother, taking a second to try to look into his glass, which he held for you to see. “Are you lying?” you narrowed your eyes at him as you asked.
Honestly, Eija was handing you drinks all night and you were too gone to tell, so looking was no use. “Absolutely. Yes I’m fucking lying,” he said before bursting into a loud laugh from the look of utter confusion and annoyance on your face. You pursed your lips at him a little and punched his arm playfully, but it was too late, you guys were cackling at the bar and gaining a few glances and stares. You two were both too drunk and foolish to notice the two giants approaching, arms around each others shoulders, Bill’s face flushed red from all the talking he was doing and Alex just boyishly excited by it all.
“The hell you two going on about?” Bill said as the two approached, his arm still around Alex. Normally, you would think it was a beautiful sight, both of them dressed to the nines and color coordinated for the shower. But, the energy was different right now, there was a excitement in the air, and everything felt hilarious. You and Valter paused- looking at the two of them only incited more laughter from the two of you. Bill and Alex glanced at each other, puzzled. “Get your girl, Alexander.” Bill muttered with a little chuckle, their laughter was contagious. Alex shook his head, still grinning, slightly rolling his eyes at you and his younger brother. “She’s had too much, if she’s laughing this hard at Valter’s jokes.”
Eija floated over and joined the circle of you by the bar, in a cream turtleneck dress that hugged her frame perfectly, Aperol Spritz in hand, looking like a supermodel as per usual. “How do you always look so good?” You questioned, and beamed at her, she wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you closer to her and away from Valter. “Shhhhh. I love you.” She said bumping her head against yours. “Alex, do me a favor and get my favorite girl a drink, will you, please?” Eija playfully commanded her older brother, giving him a wink, and Alex glared at her and muttered something in Swedish, but handed you whatever the hell was in his cup, even though you didn’t need it. You were about to take a sip when you were interrupted, Gustaf was clinking a spoon to a glass and calling for a toast in the buzzing room, and everyone was quieting down to listen to his speech.
Oh I loved this ask. I needed soft baby shower family gathering things....hope this sufficed bb.
