#billboard fail

This is a billboard fail I did manage to get a photo of.  This one advertising Il Divo (the all male classical crossover quartet) went up in the Ardwick area of Manchester and was on display for at least two weeks back in 2005.

I used to work in a photo processing store a looooong time ago.  Opposite the store was a supermarket with a huge billboard overlooking the carpark.

One day my boss and I watched a guy pasting up a poster advertising International Women’s Day.  He started with the left hand panel, which had the date and other info on, before moving on to a series of photos of women of note (scientists, athletes, etc) which ran along the bottom, each with a different coloured background.

He finished off by filling in the top row, carefully matching up the backgrounds so the completed board has 6 long strips running top to bottom (including the info panel)

Within four hours another guy came along and pasted a new poster over it (before I could finish work and get a photo - we didn’t have camera phones back then)

I never knew if it was a case of no instructions provided or if the guy just didn’t check them but by matching up the top row with the bottom rather than the other way around the board (for all of 4 hours) proudly celebrated WENOM.

What's wrong with this billboard?!? Dr. Graft does more than hair plugs folks! Get all your weight loss, foot pain, snoring, eyelid restoration and GYNO needs taken care of in one fast stop! (Photo taken in LA, CA somewhere)
