“.....Why are you bein’ so nice to me, Harrington?” He certainly doesn’t deserve it and something tells him it’s because Steve knows about his father, he’s figured it out and how the hell does he know his favorite movie anyway?  Take out, blankets, a favorite movie. It’s....new. He doesn’t think he’s ever had someone care this much, especially not someone he’s been such an asshole to.

Well isn’t that the damn understatement of the century. He’s black and blue and it’s easy to pass off as a fight that he’d gotten into with some stupid teenagers but the way he bristles at the thought of going home? That’s not so easy to brush off. Nor is the fact that he much rather stay here with Harrington than go home to that bastard. It’s probably better for him if he just goes home to face his father’s wrath and get it over with but he can’t bring himself to do it.

“Why the fuck do you care?” He hisses at Steve in between clenched teeth - both in an attempt to get him to go away and leave him alone and because of the pain that radiates throughout his entire body. Bruises, blood, it’s all familiar to him. Split lips, bruised sides, bloody noses, black eye - just another day in THE HELL that is living with Niel. 

He’s sure he looks like he’s just been in a fight and LOST - Billy never really loses fights, he’s aggressive, and he KNOWS HOW TO FIGHT. Well, except his father. And when he does get in fights and takes a few hits? It’s rarely ever like this. “Fuck off, Harington. I’m fine.”

That’s what happens when you get your ass handed to you by your own father, Billy thinks bitterly. “You should see the other guy.” They both know this was no fight with some other kid from school, this bloodied lip, bloody nose, and black eye came from his father. The blood stains his shirt, it’s amazing how much blood will spill from a bloody nose and lip. “It’s fine, Max, don’t worry about it.”
