“This will hurt a little, just try not to move.”
You winced as you felt the hydrogen peroxide hit the open wounds on your back, a small whimper leaving your throat which were met with gentle shushing noises from Bright.
“They could’ve gone longer before this you know. They aren’t made of glass.”
“I was gone for a day, Clef! Surely this was an overreaction on your part, what could they possibly have done to deserve this?”
“What could they have done?” As Bright brought the bandages around you chest from behind, slowly binding your torso and back, you heard Clef’s heels approaching. Locked in place by Bright you gulped when you felt his hand on your shoulder. “What could they they possibly-“ the hand on your shoulder tightened to bruising before he stepped in front of you, grabbing your chin in a harsh grip and forcing you to look him in the eye. “-have done to make me angry?”
His voice dropped, low and threatening in his tone. Every time you tried to flit your eyes away the hand on your face tightened until you looked back to him. “I’m waiting for an answer. What. Did. You. Do. Or do I need to force it out of you?” He didn’t miss the fear that flashed in your eyes, no doubt remembering the bite of his whip on your back from when you had tried to hide your infraction.
“I-I-“
“Don’t worry, I won’t be too angry.” Bright’s tone may have been kind, but it didn’t console you in the slightest. “Just tell me what you did.” You were trying desperately to speak, but your voice was stuck in your throat even with Bright’s hand rubbing reassuring circles lightly on your back.
“I’ll tell you what they did.” Clef squatted to your eye level, grabbing your face again in an iron grip . “Last night, they pretended to play nice, only to swipe my keycard, didn’t you?” Tears pricking at the corners of your eyes as his volume rose, you nodded. “ and then what did you try to do?”
“I tried to escape...” The hand on your back froze, there was a tense silence for a moment before there was a sigh.
“I’m disappointed, just when you were starting to show progress. What brought on this foolish display of defiance? Perhaps the books we’ve been allowing you to read recently? Do we need to revoke that privilege?” You didn’t want to plead, you didn’t want them to know your desperation. Desperation from you gave them room to demand even more so than they already did and that was the last thing you needed, so you settled for shaking your head.
“No, it’s not the books.”
“You see, I don’t believe you, because that insinuates you thought about trying to leave by yourself.” The arms holding you in place wrapped around you, less gentle than before in a warning grip as your wounds throbbed when he pressed his chest to your back, Clef simply standing back, the sick smirk on his face showing his enjoyment in your discomfort.
“I-I don’t know what I was thinking. I just wanted some fresh air I think...I don’t really remember.”
“I can’t say I’m convinced, I think we should remove the books again.” Bright hummed from behind you, you felt him come closer and his breath on your ear as he whispered “Perhaps we would be more inclined to believe you if you apologise to us, maybe if you do it well enough we can consider Clef’s punishment enough.”
You clenched your hands into fists, oh you knew exactly what kind of apology they wanted. You’d learned a while ago that fighting aimlessly against them wasn’t a smart move, you had scars to remind you and you couldn’t bare their company much longer without the distraction. So gritting you teeth momentarily, you turned yourself towards Bright, considering to yourself that at the very least he couldn’t speak as a small comfort, you pressed your lips to his, turning yourself in his lap to try and relieve the strain on your neck.
As soon as you felt his tongue press against your closed mouth you jerked away, even now still uncomfortable with the intamacy these two wanted, even touching them made your skin crawl now, but Clef was having none of your hesitation. He grabbed you by the hair, giving a sharp enough tug to force your head back without pain, exposing your neck and shoulder to him.
“Now now, we don’t want any of that, if you keep this up who knows what we might have to do to punish you.”
“Clef, try not to be too rough with them.” Bright sighed as the rougher of the two buried his face into your neck “They are still injured.”
“Well maybe that pain will serve as a reminder that things around here will be a lot easier as soon as they start behaving themself. Now, it’s time for you to apologise to us. Properly.”
