What's your experince with deleting simb bin sims the game spawns when installing a new expansion pack/deleting practically unplayed sub-neighbourhoods? Have that ever blown up any hoods for you, the way deleting actual played sims with friends and family connections tend to do? (I am asking because I realised I had deleted some unplayed, unrelated sims myself and I became so nervous! Also unplayed uni students. What's your opinion? I am a huge fan of your challenges, btw)

I’ll tell you my experience since that’s what you asked, but my experience might not be typical. Until a few years ago I used to always delete the un-played bin Sims I didn’t want when I first loaded a new neighborhood, before opening any lots or moving new Sims in. As often as I did that, I never noticed any problems associated with it and none of my ‘hoods have blown up from it. And that’s playing five and more generations in those neighborhoods. However! You absolutely should not do that. Deleting them doesn’t remove all trace of their existence from the neighborhood file. Even un-played Sims.

That said, corruption sometimes takes a long time to become noticeable. No point freaking out about it until you start seeing signs of it. But from now on, I highly recommend using clean or empty neighborhood templates if you don’t want those extra Sims the neighborhoods come with. :)
