Hey i have to take either Biol 112 or Biol 121, which do you think was easier/less work? Time IS of the essence :)
I think 121 was less work, only because there weren’t any tutorial sessions.
How do you recommend studying for biol 121? (I did poorly on both midterms). Thank you!
It depends on the professor, as they all teach slightly different things, but I would recommend checking out the questions at the end of each chapter you’ve covered in the textbook, the Freeman questions are pretty good. Also, look over and do the midterm questions too, so you have an idea of what to expect, but don’t look at the answers until you’ve tried them first.
Should BIOL 121 and BIOL 140 be taken together?
Eh, it doesn’t really matter, they don’t really overlap.
Do I have to take all of BIOL 112, 121 and 140 during my first year to get into the Biology major? Are they prerequisites for the future courses I'll need to take?
You can do either 112 or 121, with 140 but I HIGHLY recommend you just take all 3 to get them over with, it makes course selection easier when you’re in Biology. 112 isn’t a pre-req for any of the upper level Biology courses, at least I don’t remember, but if you wanted to do some MICB, you will need it.

I heard BIOL 140 is quite difficult. Was it hard for you to take BIOL 140 with another bio course in the same term?
No, I think I did better the term I was taking BIOL 140 and 121, but that might be because I like Biology.
Should I take BIOL 112 before 121? Does it matter?
It doesn’t matter.
Would you recommend a non-science student to take BIOL 121 (Genetics, Evolution and Ecology) as I need to meet the science requirement in my BA degree? and I do not have biology background! except for physics
I didn’t think it was too bad…but I was a Biology major. There were quite a few Arts students in the class though.
