[2026-06-29] This is the trig point on Birchen Edge. For this walk the start was the road junction just north of Birchen Edge. Decided to walk around the valley clockwise, so off to Birchen Edge first. The ground was dry and an easy walk up to the summit of Birchen edge. Then it was along the edge and down to the Robin Hood Inn. After a short walk alongside the road it was to to Gardom's Edge. The top of Gardom's Edge has lots of bracken at present but the birch forest is still magnificent. Then it was back to the car via the good paths.

[2025-11-10] A walk over Gardoms Edge and then Birchen Edge. Morning walk as it started to rain about 12:00. Very wet underfoot.

[2025-05-28] This is Nelson's monument at Birchen Edge. For a change parked the car at roadside north of Birchen's Edge. Walked down Gardom's Edge, past the Robin Hood Pub and then up Birchen Edge to the monument and the 'Three Ships' rock formation. A lovely late spring day with great views over much of the Peak District

(2024-05-02) Birchen Edge. A lovely sunny day after the mist burnt off. Walk up beichen Edge from Robin Hood pus. Then onto Gardom's. Very quiet.
