Remember the Dove that was attacked by a Starling the other day? I think this might be the one. Despite the tussled “hair” it seems to do ok. I also got the Safflower out and am cutting the Starlings off now. This is a little bit different than my regular angle, but I liked the straigt look into the camera. (watermark is bigger because my social media has blown up and people are more eager to take pics and use them for their own stuff)

Breaking my rule again. These are no photo booth pics. But whoa :O! A female Bluebird has started to build a nest in my nestbox, as you know. Tonight, I noticed a BB who was singing very loudly, and he sounded kind of different (yeah I am nerdy like that, I think I can somehow differentiate their calls...) Well, lo and behold. It seems it was a different guy. These two were fighting like Peter Griffin and the chicken forever. It was crazy to watch. Pic quality isn’t great, but this is for documenting. Hence no watermark either. It gives me hope that my BB couple, I named them Mickey and Mallory, are gonna make it just fine :)

Shitty hormonal budgie hen fight club seems to have ended!  They’re still not going to be together without supervision, but they’re not even flirting with each other anymore.  I don’t know whether this is because of just time, my crate-and-rotate system, or both, but I don’t care as long as they aren’t attacking each other.

the second in a series of conversations i wish i had heard in their entirety.

it wasn't really the end of a conversation--if in this world, these things are even capable of having conversations--but, i drove by two little birds fighting with a big, black bird in mid-air.

i just can't imagine what could have prompted such behavior. i mean...it really could've been any number of things, but i just didn't have the imagination enough to fabricate a cause at the moment.
