Orioles 8, Cardinals 5 : Bird Fight - The O's homer 4 more times on Father's Day, giving them 10 HR's in the Series in just 3 games. Seth Smith homers to center (#7) to lead off the game against starter Lance Lynn to put the O's up 1-0. Stephen Piscotty homers to center (#5) to tie it off of Ubaldo Jimenez in the 2nd, but Trey Mancini homers to right (#12) in the bottom of the 2nd to put the Orioles back ontop. Piscotty homers to center again (#6) in the 4th to cut the lead to 3-2. Trumbo hits a 2-run shot to left (#10) to make it 5-2, Jonathan Schoop adds a sacfly to center to make it 6-2 & Welington Castillo homers to center (#7) in a 4-run 5th inning. Jimenez goes 7 solid innings, allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits, he walks 4 & strikes out 3, Brad Brach closes it out in the 9th. Baltimore takes 2 out of 3 from the Cards & gets back to .500. The green hummingbird feeds happily...until the divebomb headbutt from the red hummingbird...good sound on the hit... ouch
A group of Ospreys, large fish-eating birds of prey, have opted to build their nest in front of a traffic camera on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and no matter how many times officials take the nest down, the Ospreys just build a new one. All in all, the nest has been removed three times and then rebuilt again by the Ospreys. Yup, these birds have definitely ruffled the MDTA’s feathers.
