Jangan memintaku membuatkan satu bait puisi. Karena aku bukan sang pujangga kala orang memanggilnya. Aku hanya akan berdoa semoga kamu bahagia. Hey, tuan.
Tetaplah menjadi yang bermanfaat bagi oranglain. Teruslah berkarya, hingga karyamu dikenang. Jangan pernah berhenti menginspirasi, siapa yang tahu dikemudian hari penulis terkenal bermula dari inspirasimu.
Untuk kamu yang aku panggil dengan sebutan siperi bewok, selamat bertambah usia.
Revenge Of... The Bride Of... Birthdaymas’s Monster???
I’m running out of titles...
Every year I write one of these posts in an attempt to dissuade people from spending their money on me, and every year it doesn't work. So, to prove how thoroughly I have learned this lesson, I'm not going to do one this year.
Nah who am I kidding, lets get some birthdaymas cheer going on!
So, everyone knows how this works by now, but for those new to the show- every year people ask “HEY BB WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY AND ALSO CHRISTMAS” and every year I shrug my shoulders and attempt to awkward-turtle my way out of the conversation and hope they forget.
It means a lot to me that people think enough of me to want to celebrate my birthday and also christmas with me, so I don't like to throw that affection back in people's faces by saying “no nothing get me nothing”. To that end, the birthdaymas challenge was born!
I love fanart. No, no. I looooove fanart. Here is my fanart folder as proof. I love it when people do creative stuff, and I can't art myself so I have a big respect for it. So! Instead of buying me something, I always ask those who intended to do so to draw me something!
This is of course always met with “hrmm”s and “oh dear”s and many furrowed eyebrows as people think I expect a 500 hour masterpiece. Not so! If you spend 5 minutes in MS Paint doodling me a goofy little thing I will love it! It's the effort I appreciate. (If you want to spend 500 hours on it, please feel free.)
So! The theme this year is Kotori-San! No, not Kotori, but her little birdy mascot dude! Assume from this point onwards, if you were to ask me “Hey BB what would you like for birthdaymas”, my answer would be “DRAW THAT FAT LITTLE BIRD DUDE”.
No obligation! This is just for people who wanted to get me something. If you had no intention of doing so, awesome! I still think you're rad. <3
Here is the part where I usually list a bunch of real world stuff you can actually spend money on if you're the awful type of person wants to BUY me THINGS like some really nice generous awful jerk. Not this time! Because I've actually been curating a list of Stuff BB Wants over on Trello and you can peruse that at your leisure. (I actually made it for my own purposes, but it saves writing the list out again.) Steam gifts are always a safe bet, though.
If you do plan on buying an actual thing for me, please communicate with midgi! She is arbiter of BBirthdaymas and will keep track of what's being bought, and if you have any questions you can filter them through her so I don't know who is doing what.
We Disneybounded every day of our Disney World trip and it was amazing! We were: adventure Anna and ice dress Elsa; the Genie and a magic carpet ride; Mulan and Merida; coronation Anna and Elsa; and GoGo Tomago and Honey Lemon. They were mostly planned in advance, except Genie and the carpet ride, which was the result of throwing all the clothes we brought onto the beds and staring at them for an hour until we found something that worked.
It was a wonderful birthday. Vasant made me breakfast in bed and wrote a birthday message in Christmas lights on the ceiling. After breakfast and a movie, Will and Mary joined us for a Supernatural marathon. Then Mary treated Vasant and I out to dinner at the Dahlia Lounge. Will, Claire and Emily joined us. We went to see the Christmas lights and Gingerbread Village downtown after dinner. We just finished up cake and presents back at home and tomorrow, we go up to Leavenworth in the traditional "kind of my birthday/mostly Christmas" outing. I'm going to wrap a couple of boxes for Christmas and then hit the hay. I'm exhausted, but this day has been wonderful. I'm so thankful for the people in my life.
