Today I came out to my best friend. The one person I thought would be the least accepting of my sexuality. The two of us have grown up as part of the Mormon religion and she is very staunch, goes to church every week, talks about getting married in the temple. Hell, she even served an 18 month mission for our church. She’s my other half, and I thought being that engrained in a religion, she wouldn’t be accepting. But she was! She said she couldn’t be happier and she can’t wait to meet my girlfriend. I broke down sobbing in the break room at work because I was so happy. So happy that I told her, but so happy she accepted me and still loved me unconditionally. Definitely the highlight of my day.
