i keep seeing people call judblanc a crack ship. guys crack shipping isn't when an existing dynamic is unlikely to become sexual because of catholicism or marriage but some fans see it anyway. crack shipping is a term used for shipping characters that have never even met and are unlikely to meet and nothing you know about them implies that they would even like each other

only just noticed how jud calls the guy he killed at 17 "a man," which knowing rian johnson is the most intentional wording ever. he doesn't say "a guy" or "someone my age" he says, "a man" which feels super intentional in being like, this guy was older than him by probably at least a few years. obviously foreshadowing wicks' death and framing jud later on..

but there is something more i can't properly articulate about jud having to prematurely age himself up to fit his circumstances and how that leads to his "i just want to be good," "i will absolve myself" thing he's got going on. and wanting to impress specifically older men. who is the oldest possible man he could ever impress and absolve himself to? god. (but this also explains his general softness and "give me one more shot! i promise," thing he has with langstrom)

and how perfect for a sexy 57yr old detective to show up looking to absolve him.
