You can't kill me yet. I went somewhat into the future of my work here. But, in short, anytime I draw the rocks or want to post steven universe related stuff, I will do so here. I will be more active on my main, @thefaeriemerchant . I have quite a few illustrations and mini comics planned, then after that... Bracelets.
Every comic has a different difficulty level/different needs. But, on average, I could complete 3 pages in 2 days, if I was really cranking them out. (pages, not parts.) It was hard work and my life was sorely unbalanced. All I did was draw for a long, long time. I do not reccommend.
You are not mistaken! Original work title forthcoming. The YGPIM gems are expies of those characters, Aela (Lily), Linh (Peridot), and Tayo (Lapis). I cannot get into it here... but eventually when I start posting art of it it'll be over on my main, @thefaeriemerchant

Honest to god, YGPIM's "pre-production" was like... 3 or 4 days long. Not ideal, but keep in mind, up until this point, I was a notoriously slow artist who never completed jack fuck. Your Green Palm in Mine was supposed to be a cute little tiny project with no standards to fill the void of my mental health... so yeah, I rushed it, in hopes that would prevent me from giving up. The plot is incredibly simple so it was overall, easy to write and draft. I wrote each chapter/chunk before drawing it, and made changes and revisions as needed. As the story grew, so did it's depth, and I tried to touch on those topics when I could. Some ideas, like Peri braiding Lily's hair, were very last minute.
I drew like... 2.5 pieces of concept art, a page of traditional sketches, and created 2 low res turnarounds for Peri and Lily.
I then wrote most of chapter one, wrote any future notes/ideas I could, had a list of random quotes I wanted to include in chapter 2, and immediately started drawing.
The title of "Your Green Palm in Mine," came to me after drawing and writing part 5, where Lily compliment's Peridot's hands. Before then, the working title was "Dotted Rose."

Like, obviously Pink made the Rose Quartz’s and I could even see her doing so in part to better hide herself when going about as Rose, but them being taken and bubbled? And then being left in the zoo? None of that seems like it was Pink’s doing or something she could do anything about. They were bubbled because Pink was supposedly shattered and after that point, she was kinda stuck on earth, right?
Ah! A matter of timeline confusion. This one’s luckily pretty clear: Pink bubbled them.
For one, they are in Pink bubbles… her bubbles. And in Rose Buds, a Rose Quartz says “Your mom created us too… and got us all bubbled, for just being Rose Quartzes.” It was her who did it. Then, in trial, Zircon says “Rose Quartz was a recognized threat for several hundred years. There were no Rose Quartzes in her entourage, and none in her army!”
They were bubbled before she was shattered, and the show is pretty straightforward about it.
Whether Pink wanted to bubble them is up for debate. My general opinion is she was pressured into it by Blue and Yellow. Peridot and Lily don’t know Pink personally, and assume that Lily was made to be bubbled. Since the story was from their perspective, that’s the lens I took with YGPIM.
Edit: I’d also like to think they were bubbled by Pink instead of the alternative- being shattered by the other diamonds.
I don't quite get that used as a pawn and created as a sacrifice thing. Is it that theory that Roses were made to mimic the top of Pink's gem? Cus i don't think it makes much sense considering Pearl was the one to suggest that form to her
It is technically up to interpretation, but honestly, there’s a few things going for that the theory Rose Quartzes were made as an elaborate cover up.
1. Pearl says, “Because… you changed your shape for the day! Now you look just like a Quartz.” Notice: she does not say Rose Quartz specifically.
2. Then, when they arrive on Earth, Rose says “Hello, fellow Amethyst guards… what are we all up to?” Insinuating she was, at least, temporarily trying to pass as an Amethyst.
3. All the Rose Quartzes we see in the show were made on Earth by Pink Diamond. “They were hers,” Blue says. I think we would have seen them in the flashback to when the Amethysts emerged if they were out of the ground then. But they weren’t. Because they hadn’t yet been made by Pink.
It’s up to interpretation, but this is how I always took it
Right of the bat, I'm going to address the by-far most asked question.
In relation to any form of a Lapis fusion related questions:
Nope! The answer is nope. To all of them.
Lapis has no desire to fuse.
Not one bit.
"But what about hypothetically?" No, I don’t know what those fusions would hypothetically look like, as I don’t think about it. I know I designed a Lapis x Lily fusion (Iolite), but I have since deeply regretted doing so due to the sheer amount of people asking for other hypothetical fusions.
I have been asked this over a hundred times over the course of YGPIM. Please stop asking me. It’s not happening, and would made for a far worse, gimmicky story. If you’d like to read up on why I made this narrative decision, go here.
With that out of the way, onto the other asks!
Hm.... You see, the first two chapters of YGPIM are not conducive to the tapas/webtoons format. I do intend to make a PDF of the whole thing, and that may be better for that... But who knows! We'll see.

Peridot was taking those creatures because their planets were dying.
They are all dead.
Her pets are all that remains of countless planets that were turned into gem colonies.

Q: How does Lily (and/or Peri) feel about the whole Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond debacle?
A: They've got a lot of mixed feelings on the topic. Learning that Lily was made to be bubbled was a massive blow to both of them. Peridot was already mad that the rebellion lead to Lily being bubbled- but, she always chalked it up to chance. Something seemed fishy, sure, but she couldn't exactly investigate further. She appreciated that gems like her tried to be free by starting the rebellion, but she always thought it was a doomed to fail attempt, that ended with her love locked up.
But now? She's infinitely more angry. There was never a world where this didn't happen to Lily. It wasn't chance, it was by design.
...However.
In the same breath, She deeply adores organics. She understands why Pink/Rose did it. She's probably a little sentimental that Lily's true intended purpose was to save life, not end it. She's happy Lily exists at all.
But she's pissed.
As for Lily... she has similar feelings to Peridot, but her anger is directed on behalf of her sisters being innocent victims in this mess. On top of all that, (as mentioned in the comic) she had already rejected her perceived purpose, so it wasn't difficult to reject another, (being a sacrifice).
She's happy to exist.
She's happy the Earth is still around.
She's not happy she was put in the crossfire.

I received a lotttt of asks wondering if the YGPIM trio would meet the canon characters! So this bomb focuses primarily on that.
Q: Did they meet/do they ever meet Steven?
A: Nope! Steven is long gone on his road trip post-future. Lapis is entirely uninterested. Lily and Peridot's interest's are piqued from a science perspective, but they don't care enough to go out of their way to meet him.

I don't see any of them getting close... I really do not like messing with canon characters, it feels? Almost sacrilegious to me. I don't care when others do it, I just don't like doing it myself.

HmmM... Interesting question, and theory. In my mind, CG Peridot has resolved most of her body issues by future. I'd like to think it wouldn't bother her. If anything, I could see a Peridot seceeding and being a rebel before her getting under her skin more than height, if at all. She seems pretty confident these days!

A: Agate is glad to meet other gems like her- I don't think the YGPIM trio would be very interested in Little Homeschool, as they have figured themselves out already, but Agate would likely enjoy the networking and social aspect of it. I Think Agate would get along with Garnet, but I doubt she'd stay on Earth long enough to become friends.

Past few weeks have been a blur and I have neglected posting on Tumblr. Whoops! I’ll try to get back on that. In the same breath, I’ve been taking a well deserved break from drawing and posting.
I don’t really remember what I already have written regarding my sappy feelings about making this comic… but I’ll try to cover new ground. I was at my absolute worst when I started the production of YGPIM- without getting too much into it, it was very much a “I’ll do something to fill the time before my set date I plan to leave this world” kinda project. I had been going through an intense health flare, I was in pain, and too weak to move or accomplish much. My garden was a failure as I couldn’t maintain it, and the realization the dreams I had would never be attainable absolutely broke me. I could never seem to finish my art, much less write anything… so why was I here. I’d never impact anyone because I believed I was incapable of creating anything.
But yet, here I am. I made a webcomic! I FINISHED A WEBCOMIC! I FINISHED IT IN EIGHT MONTHS? I’ve impacted countless people, my health has turned up! I run, I garden, I go out with my wonderful friends, I cook, I sew, I play with my dog, I live! I’m alive!! I never expected all this to happen, especially at my worst. But here I am! Here we are!
So thank you, all of you. For everything. It’ll be a bit before I touch comics again- my summers are busy. But I hope to return to them this fall.

Fanart for @diamond-circus-au ! I was encouraged to give it a read and I thought it was a lot of fun. It’s currently ongoing so you should go check out the creator! Diamond swap AUs are a common sight in the Steven Universe fandom, but I love to see it when someone changes up things and shakes the snow globe a lot. It follows Yellow as the littlest diamond, and Pink as the top matriarch! There’s different world building, different themes, and it’s all done in such a beautiful style. I love the line confidence and the simple colors- it really looks like a comic book I could take right off the shelf.
I’ve had an atrociously busy May- I wanted to do more for fanartpalooza, and I still will try, but I fear I am running out of time! Wish me luck… I’ve got a day and a half left lmao.
