My favorite part of TRON: Ares is when Bit shows up on the Flynn Grid, which has mysteriously been reskinned to look like the Encom Grid.

My least favorite part is whenever Jared Leto is onscreen, especially when he cyberstalks Greta Lee. Which is what he spends half the first act doing.

Also, Evan Peters gets turned into Sark in the mid-credits scene.

«Steady now. Going on route.”

You were doing it. You were actually piloting a Recognizer, all on your own too! For a simple engineering program to get an update like this, to finally get a pilot rank was outstanding achievement; your life, your knowledge will be saved in files and pass on to those who will come after you. You were filled with joy, the steady vibrations under your feet and in your arms. Your eyes were set on course. You were flying… and so was a little Bit near you. He was a silent fellow, but you appreciated his presence, steady and sure, a small flickering light above your shoulder. The Recognizers were wonderful vehicles, and yet, you were constantly worried that a sudden power surge (which were happening more often in last cycles) would shut down the system… the crash would destroy you all.

“I should not be worried, right?” you mumbled under your nose, your fingers grabbing the handles a bit too tight.

“No,” the Bit drawled, his cold, sure response seemed to be just a thing that you needed right now. You checked the Recognizer’s parameters – there was no need to worry. But maybe…

You closed your eyes for a second, your fast mind going through all the possibility. So many ifs… so many ways this could end… you had to be sure you will have enough power. You opened your eyes again and cracked your neck a bit; a small gesture you’ve learned from whispers about Users.

“Alright, Bit, I want you to connect with console, see if you can overload power cells a bit more.”

"Yes."

The Bit zipped toward the console – and connected, right below your wrist. A jolt of pure energy surged through the ship – and through you, since you didn’t stopped piloting, your hands still on handles. You gasped --- back arching as circuits lit up beneath your skin, every line of your code singing with sudden, overwhelming sensation. Never before you felt this way. It wasn’t just power – it was pleasure, sharp and electric, flooding your systems like liquid, golden, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful light.

"B-Bit—!"

Your voice glitched, fingers scrambling against the panel as the Recognizer’s engines roared with power like a wild hostile driver. Bit pulsed happily, not caring for a bit as your legs began shaking, mouth opened, quick pants escaping your lips.

“Nff! Nn-no, Bit, p-please, it’s too much!..”

But for Bit, there was no never to much. They thought in two absolutes – and what you felt was positive, there was no need to turn it negative. And yet… Programs weren’t meant to feel like this. This was fire. It pooled low in your core, radiating outward in dizzying waves, your sensors alight with a pleasure so sharp it bordered on pain. And then – worse – it built. Like a loop teetering on the edge of infinite runtime, teetering, teetering— The Recognizer’s console blared a warning, but the sound was distant, irrelevant. All that mattered was the rush, the way your body lit up like a conduit, every nerve screaming in perfect, blinding sync. You were overflowing, burning up from the inside, voice cursing and moaning. Again, you tried to call for Bit. Again, he ignored your pitiful request for mercy. Your thighs clenched, fingers scrambling against the console as the heat pooled low, throbbing, aching; you felt hollow and full at the same time.

It didn’t stop. If anything, the little bastard pushed harder, its glow flaring as it fed you more, more, until your vision whited out. You were shaking, burning, every nerve alight, your voice a ragged moan as the overload ripped through you. The Recognizer’s systems roared back online around you, but all you could feel was the rush, the dizzying, obscene fullness of it – you were now complete, archived, more powerful than before.

All you could do was shake, oversensitive, dripping with residual charge. Bit finally pulled away, leaving you slumped in the pilot’s seat, breath ragged, skin humming.

“No.”

You swallowed, trying to steady your voice. This definitely will need to be edited from your report.

“If you ever tell His Excellency about this—”

“Yes.”

Rewatched legacy and here’s a few neat things I noticed

Sam has either a poster or book related to another early 80s Disney sci fi film! (Technically 1979) it’s a nice nod. He also has the movie poster for Tron. (His dad made a movie about his own corporate espionage lmao)

The Tron cabinet is at the center of the room, we know this but I’ve never noticed the discs of Tron game machine right behind it!! It makes sense they’d have both but it’s still neat

Same goes for the paranoids machine. ( I don’t think it was ever a real game). Also anyone else notice that the arcade shrunk significantly or do they just consistently show it at a bad angle?

The fact bit was supposed to come back in the end hurts. As the movie is no he just sort of disappears once Flynn crashes the reconizer but the script and novelization imply he goes to Tron, Yori and Dumont rather enthusiastic? He’s just a little guy :( he needs someone to take care of him
