this is so incredibly late but i compiled a bunch of asks having to do with pink in the night. it’s a lot of me being emotional and exclaiming “thank you” over and over again but if you don’t mind, read away!

6. i actually did worry it was too subtle! in the panels of their childhood and on, i tried to portray the girl transitioning naturally throughout their lives together, but i think the most important panel is the second one, where she looks at the poster of a conventional family.

i had the dad and mom sort of mirror the children’s positions, holding hands. i thought a long time about what the poster should be of - at first i considered a woman? but then i thought it’s also valid to look at something and realize that’s what you’re not. so when she’s looking anxiously at this family, she’s perhaps thinking that this isn’t the future for her. maybe she doesn’t want to be the “dad” or the “husband” in this situation. and this scene is also accompanied by the line “but i didn’t do it right”... so i hoped people would be able to piece these clues together and recognize what i was going for!

AHH i’m so glad to hear that!! i’ve seen people interpret the song as something sad and bittersweet... and i understand that too! but i read an interview with mitski where she talks about how pink in the night is the feeling of being in love... and with this in mind, the vision of kissing someone again and again just because you want to do it right, and because you adore them so much, really struck a chord with me. i also loved this quote from her:

“...Heartbreak doesn't have to be a hard, horrible bad thing. It's just like ‘I'm so infatuated and in love that I feel myself crumbling... but in a good way!’”

okay but karivarry wedding vows how do you think those went? did they all cry? did they even manage to write them down? i have a distinct memory of barry writing about twenty seven pages and just winging it in the end

So planning the wedding took way longer than they thought (and that’s mostly because they have nosey sisters who had taken over the planning).

Kara has had her vows down a month into planning the wedding and would always practice the words in her head whenever she walked anywhere.

But she had kept laughing so she wouldn’t let her crying overwhelm her to the point she wouldn’t be understood.

Oliver had definitely winged it.

He’s a firm believer in knowing exactly what to say the moment he would look at them.

Barry had written his down but had totally foregone it at the literal last second because the words didn’t feel right and he needed that moment to be right.

Let’s be real: they all cried.

Let’s be even more real: Barry cried the most.

I was about to say to make Karivarry canon but no. I don’t trust CW. They’ll ruin Karivarry for me. 

So I’ll say… I just want more team-ups. Realistically, like COME ON-- If there’s like big trouble, don’t tell me Kara or Oliver or Barry wouldn’t be more than willing to call on each other for a bit of assistance.

Okay but yeah, I know it’s a logistical nightmare having to organize and make happen them crossovers.

So I’ll make do with videos, fics, gifs and headcanons.

10. what do you wish you hated, but actually like?

Haha, I suppose… Twilight. 

Listen. 

Twilight was my first fandom and was my gateway into fanfiction. I loved it, then grew to hate it (because it was so cool to hate on it back in the day) and now I love it again because I won’t deny myself the growth I’ve seen myself go through. 

Without Twilight, I never would have discovered fanfiction and this idea of making and stretching your own interpretation of the world made by others.

32. do you have any strange interests?

I’m really fascinated by medical shows.

But not like medical dramas (except The Night Shift; I live for that show). 

I really like the show Monsters Inside Me. I like looking up random surgeries on YouTube. 

Whenever I’m in the hospital, I always pay close attention to almost everything (where things are located, how busy the staff is, watching doctors hurry off somewhere).

38. are you left brained or right brained?

I wanna say I’m both.

I guess you could say I’m right-brained thus am creative because I’ve written stuff and make videos.

But I also want to believe I’m left-brained. I’ve been told I’m analytical (well, according to my calculus and physics teachers), and I’m on my way to getting into a physical therapy course (hopefully, I’ll pass, fingers crossed!).
