one of the worst aspects of being aspec in my opinion is that instead of it being mostly christians or politicians or bigots that hate you it’s moreso your fellow queers. you’ll get one shred of rep in a show and it gets immediately annihilated for allo things, usually shipping or smut, because nobody even knows about aplatonics. it’s such a fucking betrayal because these people are supposed to be your allies but the second you get something for yourself they snatch it out of your hands and refuse to acknowledge that it’s yours, and that everything is up to interpretation, actually, and that aros can be in relationships, and that aces can have sex, and apls can have friends, and that makes it okay for them to erase the little scrap of something that was yours and make it into theirs.
and then you see someone ship a gay man with a girl and the same person who snatched that shred from you along with a whole horde of people fucking dogpile them, yelling that it’s not okay. and you wonder where all that anger was when your rep was stolen from you.
