Writing Commissions!

Yep! I'm broke. So I want to try my hand at running commissions for a bit to test the waters and maybe get a little extra to keep myself afloat.

For now, we're just doing oneshots.

They'll be starting at $5 for approximately 500 words, but for every dollar after that an additional 100 words will be added. (The 500 word minimum is for my own sanity, works shorter than that will drive me crazy trying to compress them unfortunately)

(E.g. for $14 I'd write approximately 1400 words for a comm! Or for $7 I'd write approximately 700 words!)

I'm pretty open for things I'll do to be honest. Just shoot me a DM and we can figure out exact details!

However, I will not write any explicit works. There's probably some other things that I may say no to that I'm not thinking of, but we'll talk about it and see if we can figure something out!

Once again though, just ask! I'll be able to tell you if I'm knowledgeable enough to be able to write something for you. OCs are a case by case basis, I would need to have plenty of information to work with for what you'd want me to write if that's something you're interested in.

For now, I'll only have 5 slots open so that I can gauge how this'll go and approximate time of completion for everything. This will be a first come first serve!

Finally, I'll be accepting the payments once ideas are finalized, I get a word count estimate, and I have an outline of ideas. Those payments will then be through the ko-fi page I have set up, which is linked below. It's still a work in progress so bear with me!

just watched gen V episodes 1-3, lets go opinions nobody asked for!!

I'm all in. It may be my black girl mc bias, but I am deeply invested.

I was really not into The Boys. The color-grading, bleak outlook on humanity, and six millionth deconstruction of superman all felt stale to me, and I wasn't a fan of incels recieving new ammo, no matter how satirical it was.

Watching Gen V though made me honestly want to give it another chance.

My one criticism is the criticism I have with most mainstream film, which is the lack of subtlety. There is a bigender character, a schizophrenic character, and a character with an ED in this show, and that is not even the half of it. I would appreciate this more if the show would talk directly to those audiences instead of seemingly spending the whole show adding footnotes explaining those concepts to the general public. But I can let this slide because a foot in the door is a foot in the door and we really need that right now.

Meta aside, oh my GOD this story. I have never been so invested in my life.

Andre and Cate haven't really grabbed me emotionally, but they're both acted so well that i'm intrigued anyways.

Jordan is really fun for me because she has a story outside of her gender. He's really direct and cool and is the exact character archetype I catch feelings for in media. He's also played by TWO actors who have blended their performances so well that I kept forgetting they were separate people.

Marie, Emma, and Sam are so perfect I could probably write dissertations on them, but for now I will settle for saying Waterworld is almost definitely foreshadowing, and if it's not it's a metaphor.

The DEAN is such good writing. They casted an actress who played a loving mother in bridgerton to be a sneak-attack villain, and I haven't seen such a good twist of expectations since Chris Evans in Knives Out.

To be honest, I don't think we will be hosting any more events. These events, and everything here really, are on an indefinite hold as the two of us don't have the time for it, as well as both of us moving onto other fandoms. We don't have a guarantee that we'll actually return to hosting these events due to these circumstances.

For the time being, we will more than likely not do anything more with the discord server nor the events. But we thank you for your interest! And we thank everyone else for helping make these events so much fun!

I don't think the star wars fandom is mature enough to handle the nuances of adoption-

I saw a take that Anakin and Padmé weren't Leia's parents because they didn't raise her and in the same breath saw a post that said that Bail and Breha weren't her parents because they didn't give birth to her and oh my god y'all shes adopted. She has four parents. Give it a fucking rest.
