Last Saturday the second women’s tournament Nicte was held , which was organized by a group of girls that practice jiujitsu who have been supporting the women’s division since a few years ago, when there wasn’t  as many women as today practicing the sport.

Among the organizers are: Paola Belmonte (Brown Belt by Renzo Gracie Mexico), Marisol Miranda (Brown Belt by Renzo Gracie Mexico) and Samantha Andraca (Blue Belt of Zapata Team).

Many girls from different belts and schools were gathered at the Bonebreakers Central Academy to compete, the result was a nice afternoon dedicated to fighting hard and celebrating the feminine side of the sport.

On Sunday, March 19, Mexico City’s second Open Mat was held at Promahos academy, home of the Mexican brown belt Itzel Bazua, one of the pioneers of Mexican jiujitsu. This event was organized by her, Nancy Angiano blue belt of  Bujutsu’s main academy and myself.
