A/N: This is just a one-shot I wrote being inspired by the enemies to lovers trope. Doubtful this will turn into a series since I have so many other unfinished series. Special thanks to Saradika for the divider below. Enjoy!
You spent most of your life playing by the rules. Because you wanted what your elders told you you'd get if you did: a secure and prosperous life. You got good grades in high school and graduated with honors. You went to college and got what was considered a 'useful' degree. You got a full-time job working at a prestigious company in Metropolis. And most recently, you just closed on a 2-bedroom ranch style home. It took you decades to get to this point, and you were damned proud of yourself for all that you've accomplished. And in a week's time, that all went up in flames because of one person. Or rather...one man. Superman in fact.
To be specific, Superman managed to destroy everything you had built for yourself in a week. On Monday, he destroyed a building that just so happened to be your place of employment when he was going toe to toe with a monster from another universe. While Metropolis was saved, you were unemployed.
On Friday, Superman was knocked out of the sky and crashed through the roof of your home. Since you were home at the time occupied with a job search, he uttered a quick apology from him and a promise that he'd 'find a way to fix it' before flying out of the hole in your roof he created.
All that hard work and effort. Destroyed by a man you once considered a hero of Metropolis. No, he was a menace that only caused you trouble despite saving the lives of others. With little left to lose and desperate to find a way to get back at Superman for turning your life upside down, you turned to the dark web.
Going down that rabbit hole somehow led you to traveling to a sketchy part of town in Metropolis to an occult shop and purchased a book about conjuring demons and dark magic.
Several hours later, you had made a pact with a demon for supernatural abilities in exchange for your soul. It was surprisingly easy. What wasn’t easy was learning how to control your powers. You spent a few weeks in an abandoned warehouse testing out your newfound powers. Once you felt confident enough to control your powers, even if not for an extensive period, it was time to put them to the test against Superman.
"Fight me, you coward!" You cried out in frustration as he dodged another one of your multi-colored energy blasts. You ignored the cries and screams of the citizens below as you and Superman exchanged blows in the sky above them.
If Superman wanted to end the fight and you, he could have. Having the knowledge that he was the reason why you've lost so much in such a short period stopped him. That and being completely infatuated by you.
Being a journalist of the Daily Planet as Clark Kent meant that he knew a thing or two about finding the truth. After promising to fix your roof, he did some digging to find out who the homeowner was. When he learned it was you, he eventually learned about who you were and everything you had accomplished in your life. With the help of his best friend, Jimmy, he was even able to deduce where and how you got your powers.
The fact that you were so driven, hardworking, and motivated enough to do something so irresponsible was something he felt both responsible for and oddly enough admired about you. It was these facts that he realized he had to help you considering he was to blame.
"Let me help you!" Superman offered, deflecting another blast.
It was clear you were running low on stamina and your attacks were becoming easier to dodge. You were reaching your limit and you hated that even Superman could see that.
“Shut up! I don’t need your help! All you do is cause me trouble!” You spat, hatred burning in your eyes for the Kryptonian.
Ready to end the fight once and for all, you summoned the biggest energy blast you could muster before aiming it directly for Superman’s chest. To your surprise, he didn’t dodge or deflect it. Instead, he took the blast head on. You watched as Superman was sent flying into the concrete.
Satisfied with incapacitating Superman, you closed your eyes and allowed yourself to succumb to the exhaustion building within you. You began free falling from the sky. Before your body collided with the ground, you felt a strong pair of arms grab you at the last moment and hold you in a princess carry.
“I’m sorry,” Superman whispered, gently cupping your face. “For everything.”
A/N: Hey y’all! This part two has been a long time coming! Some tweaks to that should be implied that I didn't write in part one because I didn't think I was gonna continue this story: Steve and Reader are actually dating and they live together. That’s the only major thing that has changed from part one. Speechless will be 7/8 Chapters and I hope you all like what will come of this story. Also, its been exactly one year since I’ve had this blog and posted my first ever story here! There must be something in the air of October that gets my writing juices going lol. Anyways, let me know if you want to be added or removed from the taglist. I hope you like part two, and my requests are always open! All the love. xx

Chapter 1
___
You don’t remember falling up asleep, but you had awoken to an empty bed. You sat up and searched your room for any sign that you weren’t alone, your heart sank; the feeling of utter loneliness began to seep its heartbreaking feeling all throughout your body.
‘It was only a matter of time before he got tired of your stupid problems’ you thought to yourself. You flopped backwards onto the mountain of pillows and began to pull your comforter over your body. This is the fate you deserved, to be alone to deal with your mental issues on your own; no help at all.
Before you could begin sulking any further, Steve walks into your bedroom; a bag of food from your favorite Chinese restaurant in hand. He noticed the sad look in your eyes and places the food at the foot of your bed.
“Oh baby, did you think I’d just leave you like this?” He asked, he voice filled with concern. You silently shook your head, worried the tears that were brimming would fall if you spoke. He quickly made his way towards you and enveloped you in a tight embrace, the tears spilling though you did not sob. You took a deep inhale, his scent filling your nostrils; you always said he smelled like home, it was musky, warm, and comforting. He kissed the crown of your head and swayed you from side to side while rubbing your back; he began to whisper reassuring words like ‘I love you’, ‘I’m here honey, I’m here’, and ‘You’ll get through this, I know you can’. This is what you needed, just basic reassurance, you knew you were good at what you did and you didn’t have to be interrogated about your emotions every waking moment of the day or get gold stars for doing the bare minimum, but just needed someone to check in on you every so often. You knew Steve couldn’t always be next to you giving you the affirmations you needed, you knew the world needed him and you knew it would be selfish to keep him all to yourself.
After a few more moments, Steve loosened his hold on you only enough so that he was able to look down at you; you looked up at him, your eyes were red and puffy but he still thought you were the most captivating being in this entire world and when he looked at you like that you felt exactly like the only person in the entire universe. He gave you a soft peck on your lips before asking, “When was the last time you ate something?” You had opened your mouth to speak, but before you could get a word out your stomach had let out a fierce growl. You both looked at your stomach with wide eyes, then you looked at each other and broke out into laughter at the perfect timing.
“Go wash up and I’ll have everything set up on the couch by the time you get out.” You shook your head in agreeance ‘How did I get so lucky,’ you thought to yourself.
“Thank you, baby,” this time you said aloud wrapping your arms around his neck.
“Anything for my favorite girl.” With that, you let go of him, got up from the warmth of your bed, exchanged another quick kiss and retreated to your bathroom.
~
This was one of the worst episodes he had seen you go through. He knew it wouldn’t be easy for you to recover from this one, but he was sure he would be by your side as much as possible. He began by opening all the windows in the apartment, letting in the cool evening air; he knew how much you loved the way your curtains swayed in the breeze and the sound of the always bustling city. He lit your favorite candle; you always said it was the closest thing that smelled like him, his heart fluttered at the thought of someone loving him as much as you did.He started to light little tea lights and place them all throughout the room for ambiance.
He knew one of the main causes of your episodes was stress, so he was making sure this room was your vision of absolute peace. He moved your couch over to the right towards the wall containing pictures -and drawing of Steve’s you loved- to make a small dance floor near your windows, and placed a few more candles around the area. He headed to the cupboard and grabbed some plates along with wineglasses and utensils -chopsticks for you (he would never understand how you were so good at using them for the life of him) and a fork for himself- and placed them on the coffee table in front of the TV. He turned the DVD player on and inserted your favorite movie, he was sure it’d be ready to play by the time you got back. He snuck back into the bedroom and grabbed your phone and turned it on (this explained why she didn’t answer earlier) and it was luckily already connected to your home sound system. He pressed play on your shared favorite song, it played softly as he stood and waited for your return.
~
You had heard the faint melody of your and Steve’s song. Initially, you had thought your mind had been playing tricks on you, but once you had exited the bathroom the song grew slightly louder. You looked around the room but Steve was nowhere to be found.
Then, you noticed the soft glow from behind the gossamer curtains on the French doors of your bedroom. You placed both hands on your doorknobs, bracing yourself for what was to come.
Nothing could have prepared you for this sight, your breath was taken away. You looked to your lef and there was Steve stood in the middle of a makeshift dance floor. The glow of the candlelight making him look impossibly more handsome. Steve held his hand out to you, silently offering you to join him. You let go of the crutch that was your door knobs and made your way towards him, hand reaching out for his.
He grasped your hand and held it above your head and twirled you before taking your other hand and placing both of you arms on to his shoulders; you swayed slowly to the beat. Your head had rested on his chest while your hands mindlessly played with the hair on the back of his head, his hands resting on the small of your back as he quietly hummed along to the tune. You could feel the vibrations through his chest along with the faint beat of his heart.
You wished you could live in this moment forever; nothing threatening the world to take him away from you, not having to worry if you’re good enough for all the good things you without a doubt deserve, no more tears of sadness, no more silent suffering: just you two and your song.
“I can hear your thoughts for here,” he jokingly whispered as not to disturb the serenity of the room.
“ ‘M sorry,” you whispered as well.
“What’s wrong?” He looked down at you with concern. You looked up at him, the look of worry on his face made your heart sadden, you couldn’t lie to him even if you wanted to.
“I just don’t want this moment to end,” you sighed sadly, you could feel the tears well up in your eyes.
“Oh baby,” he awed, hugging you tightly, “Don’t worry about that just yet, just enjoy it while we have it.” You shook your head then blinked, causing the tears to spill; he softly wiped them away before placing his hand under your chin and lifting your head so he could look you in the eyes.
Your eyes were always his favorite thing about you, the way they could glow in the sunlight but also tell him exactly how you were feeling. Your eyes were probably the most beautiful thing on this Earth and every other planet in the galaxy. His eyes glanced at your lips, before looking at your eyes again; searching for an answer. He noticed your pupils dilate slightly, telling him all he needed to know.
He kissed you softly, love and care laced in every ounce of the kiss; one hand still on the small of your back, the other on the back of your neck. You could feel yourself melt into his touch. You kissed back, just as soft and just as much love. This kiss silently said ‘I’ll be right by your side no matter what’ and ‘I love you with every fiber in my being’.This is what you loved about being with him, you didn’t need words, your actions did all the talking for you.
The song had come to an end, and so did the kiss. Your eyes had fluttered open and a small smile ways on both of your faces.
“Hungry?”
“Starving.”
“Then let’s eat,” he said, before taking your hand and sitting on the floor in front of the coffee table. He handed you your plate, chopsticks and glass of wine; you started to serve yourself while he grabbed the remote for the TV.
“Close your eyes,” he’d said. You looked at him quizzically but complied, shutting your eyes. He quickly turned on the TV and immediately pushed mute as to not give away the surprise and proceeded to push play and then unmuted the TV.
“Okay open,” you opened your eyes and saw the Disney DVD logo begin to form on the screen. You looked at him in confusion, he just smiled but said nothing. You heard the opening notes of your favorite movie, Ratatouille. You eyes opened wide with child-like happiness, an enormous smile on genuine joy had graced your face; eyes silently asking ‘ Is this what I think it is?’. Smile still on his face, he just shook his head. Your attention was glued back to the TV as you enjoyed your dinner and drink.
~
That is why he did it, to see that smile be the size of the moon and for it to always shine just as bright. He knew of the constant internal battle you endured and he wanted to be the one to get you through it, be by your side through every fight you had with yourself because there was no reason to go into any fight alone; he knew that better than anyone in the world.
When you had begin to confide in him about your mental illness, he began to do research on how to make your life a little easier because it didn’t always have to be a struggle. He looked up ways to boost serotonin, and asked -what felt like to you, random- questions on your favorite things from fruit to flowers and every possible thing in between. He knew that list of things and all his research would be used to the fullest in the coming days to help you recover for this episode.
~
Midway towards the end of the movie, Steve had taken your plate and wine glass and given you chocolate covered almonds, your favorite snack and water. He began to turn off the candles throughout the room -quietly grabbing some new ones for the next surprise for you- and shutting the windows; he then ducked off into the bedroom without a word, you didn’t ask any questions and continued to enjoy the rest of the movie.
The movie had ended and Steve still hadn’t returned from the room, ‘where the hell could he possible go?’ you asked yourself mentally. You got up and stretched, hearing you back crack and you huffed out in relief. You grabbed the container holding your snack and bottle of water, headed towards the kitchen and placed them in the cabinet and fridge respectively.
You made your way to the bedroom, expecting to see Steve in bed; but you were wrong.
“Babe?” You asked into the empty room.
“In here,” you’d heard his reply from behind the bathroom door. You opened the door to see him lighting one last candle; the bath hand been drawn filled with a mountain of bubbles, music playing softly from the speaker near your tub. You looked at him, love in your eyes. The look on his face asking ‘Do you like it?’. You shook your head yes. Of course you loved it! How could you not? It was like he was catering to your every desire before you even thought of it yourself.
“Join me?” You asked.
“Love too,” he simply replied. You both began to undress. He stepped in the tub first, then you, you both sat down; you laid back onto his chest, he grabbed a sponge and began to trickle water all over your body. You closed your eyes and the water warm and inviting, Steve began humming along to the some songs again, putting you further at ease; you didn’t know what you did to deserve someone as amazing as him but you were thanking every cosmic force that brought him into your life.
You had spent this intimate moment just releasing all the things you had kept bottled up that you didn’t say earlier during his absence; he just listened and massaged your back, occasionally using the sponge to pour the warm water down your back. Once you had finished with your venting, he told you the events of his mission - you occasionally poking fun at his running head on to danger- and how it was seemingly simple but being anywhere besides by your side was always a tale that he felt needed to be told.
Both of your fingers had become pruny and the water had cooled down, these were signals to turn in for the night. You exited the tub and went through your nightly routine, getting dressed and preparing your hair for an easy start to your morning tomorrow. You dropped your hands from your head and stared at your reflection in the mirror ‘Oh no, work,’ you thought to yourself. You really had to face everyone after your coworkers after your sudden absence. Did they even care that you were missing? Were they really your friends?
“Of course they cared, you’ll see,” you suddenly heard from behind you; you saw Steve behind you from the mirror, he was leaning against the door frame of the bathroom.
“Get out of my head,” you stated half-jokingly. He had pushed himself off of the door frame and made his way to you. He stood behind you and snaked his arms around your waist. His warmth comforted you. He began to make you sway to an absent beat, calming you slowly. He placed his hands on your hips and turned you around, you stared deeply into his brilliantly blue eyes.
“Tomorrow is gonna be just like any other day, and you know I’ll be there the instant you need me,” he reassured you, you could feel your knees getting weak of how much you truly loved this man.
“You’re right.”
“Damn right I’m right.”
“Hey language, mister,” you snapped back jokingly.
“That was one time!”
“What would America think?”you fake chastised.
“One time!” You giggled at his dramatics, everything would be alright… You hoped.
A/N: The reader is in her 30s and Peter is in his early 20s in this piece. Thank you @sweetkingdomstarlight-blog for beta-reading this fic! You're amazing as always!
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENT THAT YOU READ! BY CHOOSING TO PROCEED FURTHER YOU AGREE TO UNDERSTAND THIS FIC IS FOR 18+ USERS ONLY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
The first day of the new semester with your students was usually uneventful since you'd spend it going over the syllabus, your rules, and expectations. However, this semester ended up being different than any other. You were forced to confront the young man you slept with the night before. You knew he was younger than you, but you never would've guessed that he'd end up being one of your students. That would certainly be the last time you'd have a one-night stand with a stranger just so you could start off the semester with a bang. Pun intended.
Don't tell me that he's actually...oh fuck. You felt yourself start to panic as you watched him enter the classroom with the rest of the students.
He felt your gaze on him and he looked at you, making your heart hammer in your chest. To your surprise, he smiled at you. Not wanting to look suspicious in front of the other students, you smiled back, albeit forcefully.
As soon as you finished going over everything with your students, you dismissed them from the classroom. You stood idly by, watching all your students clear out the room, anxiously awaiting the one student who couldn't take his eyes off you, Peter Parker.
"Hey, Professor," Peter took out an apple from his jacket pocket and held it out to you. "Thought you might want this since you kind of left in a hurry this morning."
You took the apple and set it down on the table behind you. Pardon my language, but what the absolute fuck, Peter?"
"For the record, I didn't know that you'd be my professor." Peter defended.
"And I didn't know you were gonna be one of my students! My god, this is a nightmare!"
You didn't know whether to cry or scream for making such an impulsive and stupid mistake. You'd probably do both if you were in your office right now.
"Don't worry," Peter placed a comforting hand on your shoulder and smiled at you. "I haven't told anyone."
"Peter, I need you to promise, no, swear to me that you won't breathe a word of this to anyone. Can you keep this to yourself? Please?" You begged.
"That depends," Peter's smile morphed into a smirk, which made your blood suddenly run cold. "Can I keep you to myself?"
"Be serious!"
"I am! Look, last night really... it really meant something to me. You made me feel special, (y/n). I don't want to lose that feeling." Peter confessed, placing his hands on your shoulders.
"Feeling? We spent one night together! If I had known you were my student I would have never even thought about sleeping with you. This can never leave this room. Understand?"
"Yes, ma'am," Peter sighed in resignation.
"Good, I'll see you on Wednesday. Don't forget to read chapters one and two before then."
To your surprise, the rest of your week was uneventful after your 'discussion' with Peter about your indiscretions. Peter didn't bring up what happened between you two and only talked to you if it had something to do with school work. This went on for about two weeks until he decided to show up at your office one evening while you were grading papers.
"Professor (Last Name)?" Peter's voice forced you to look up from your work.
"Peter?" You took off your reading glasses and set them down on your desk. "My office hours aren't during this time."
"I know," Peter closed the door to your office and proceeded to pull out a piece of paper from his backpack before handing it over to you. "I wanted to give you something."
You cautiously took the paper from him and looked it over, your eyes widening in the realization of what it was. "You're dropping out of my class?"
"Yeah, I thought about what you said and I figured it would be easier if I took the class with another professor," Peter said.
"I'm sorry to hear that." You frowned.
"I'm not," Peter's smile confused you.
"And why is that?"
"Isn't it obvious? You're not my professor anymore, so now there's no reason why we can't see each other."
You felt your shoulders tense up as Peter approached your desk and placed both hands on them in front of you.
"Peter, even if you drop out of my class, that doesn't change the fact that you're still a student at this school and I'm a professor." You argued, standing up to your feet.
"We're both adults here, aren't we?"
"It's still inappropriate! I can lose my job over this. You don't understand--"
"No, you don't understand!" Peter slammed his hands on your desk, making you yelp in surprise when the desk formed cracks from the strength he used.
You slowly found yourself cornered in your own office as Peter approached you and backed you into the wall behind you. "Look, don't try and pretend what we did that night didn't happen. I can make you feel like that again if you'll let me. There's nothing standing in our way now."
"Peter, please...just go. If you leave now, I promise I won't say anything about what you've done tonight."
Peter laughed humorlessly. "What I've done? You came onto me, a college student, no less. And now you wanna play innocent and act like I'm the bad guy? I don't think so."
"Okay, fine. I'm leaving then. Goodbye, Peter." You pushed Peter aside and gathered up your belongings. As you headed for the door, you hear a 'thwip' sound behind you and find your hand suddenly stuck to the doorknob with some sort of webbing. You froze up in fear upon realizing who you were dealing with.
"You're...you're Spider-Man." You breathed out.
"I knew there was a reason why I liked you. You're so smart." Peter approached you and proceeded to web your other free hand to the wall and then your feet to the floor.
No matter how much you tried to pull or yank your hands and feet free, the webbing Peter used kept you bound. Peter grabbed your chin in his hand, forcing you to stare back into his brown eyes.
"Are you gonna stay quiet for me, or am I gonna have to keep you quiet?"
You silently nodded your head, blinking away the tears that formed in the corners of your eyes.
"Good girl..." Peter kissed your temple.
Peter dropped his backpack to the floor and then dropped to his knees in front of you. He began to unbutton your pants and pulled them down to your ankles. "Since you took such good care of me last time, I'm gonna return the favor. I'll make you feel as special as you made me feel that night. I promise."
A/N: The reader and Nathan are in their mid-20s in this fic. I might write more for Nathan depending on feedback. Reblog and comment if you would like more! <3
You knew absolutely nothing about bartending. But did you let that stop you when you were offered a position as a bartender and be trained by Nathan Drake? Absolutely not. You were happy to take almost any job that worked with your school schedule as an undergrad and leave you time to study when business was slow. Plus, it helped that you had such an attractive coworker to show you the ropes.
"Are you listening to me, (Name)?" Nathan's voice broke your train of thought.
"Yeah, absolutely." You lied through your teeth.
You certainly weren't staring at his sinuous arms as he vigorously shook a cocktail shaker with both hands. Nope. Not at all.
"Good, because tonight I'm gonna teach you a couple of tricks." Nathan smiled.
Nathan set the cocktail shaker down then grabbed a bottle of tequila off the shelf behind him. He effortlessly spun a bottle of tequila in his hand after catching it from behind his back and he poured some into a shot glass. He slid the glass down the table to a customer. Not only did Nathan know his way around the bar and mix a good drink, but he was charming and quick-witted too.
You had only been at the job for about two weeks and you were already infatuated with him. In those two weeks, Nathan taught you how to memorize customers' drink orders, how to mix them properly, getting familiar with the bar stock, and drink presentations. If anyone else had been training you, you would've been bored and eager to leave to do anything else. Nathan kept you engaged and kept things light. He made the job fun.
"Cool," you breathed out. "How long did it take you to learn that?"
"A couple hours." Nathan shrugged his shoulders.
"Think I'll need more than a few hours to figure out how to do that." You shook your head.
"Trust me," Nathan gently tapped your forehead with two fingers. "If that pretty head of yours can remember everything that I've taught you so far, I bet you can learn how to do this too. I have the utmost faith in you."
You could feel the heat rise to your face from his words. How could you not? The man was fine and he was flirting with you. You hoped and prayed that you wouldn't make a fool of yourself.
"Okay, we'll start small and have you learn how to do a single rotation with one hand," Nathan grabbed an empty cocktail shaker before he poured an ounce of tequila into it.
In one swift motion, he tossed the shaker into the air so that it rotated and caught it with the same hand. "Simple, right?"
"Yeah, so easy." You snorted.
"C'mon, just give it a try." Nathan handed you the shaker with a smile.
You reluctantly took the shaker from his hand. You psyched yourself up before you counted to three, mimicking Nathan's technique. When you made a grab for it, it slipped from your hand, but Nathan managed to catch it before it could land on the floor.
"That's okay. Consider this a trial run." Nathan reassured. "You got this."
You spent the next thirty minutes practicing your rotations with empty cocktail shakers before you eventually got the hang of it. You eventually learned how to rotate shakers from one hand to another. Even though you dropped it several times, Nathan never stopped encouraging you to keep trying or hyping you up when you were successful.
"You're a pro," Nathan smirked as he watched you rotate and catch a shaker for the umpteenth time tonight.
"Oh stop." You could feel your ego getting bigger by the second.
"Okay, okay," Nathan laughed, taking the hint. "I'll teach you how to do one more thing tonight. And that's how to balance."
"Balance?" you repeated, raising an eyebrow.
"Balance."
Nathan grabbed the bottle of tequila he used earlier and tossed it in the air before he held out his forearm to catch it, now balancing it.
"Impressive. Do we have a practice bottle that I could use so I don't break anything expensive?" You looked at the shelf behind Nathan.
"Yeah, it's on the top shelf. Lemme grab you the step stool." Nathan headed to the back of the bar before he returned with a small step stool. He placed it in front of the shelf for you to stand on.
"Thanks," You carefully stepped onto the stool and stood on your tiptoes as you reached for the plastic bottle on the top shelf.
When your fingers finally grabbed hold of the bottle, you felt the stool suddenly tilt over, leaving you without anything to stand or balance on. As luck would have it, Nathan reached out and caught you in his strong arms before you could fall to the ground.
"You okay?" Nathan looked down at you, concern evident in his eyes.
"Yeah, I am now." You nodded slowly.
For once, you were glad you couldn't balance for shit today.

A/N: This is my first TASM!Peter Parker fic. Technically, you could read this with Tom!Peter Parker in mind, but I wanted to try my hands at writing for Andrew Garfield's version of Spider-Man for a change. Due to the nature of this fic, Peter and the reader will be of college-age in this fic, so 19-20. Reblog and comment for more works like this! A special shoutout goes to my friend, jobean-12 to beta-reading this! <3
You stared back at your reflection in your bathroom mirror, admiring the way your body looked in the outfit (that you hugged your body). You wore a black strapless and backless jumpsuit that accentuated your curves and figure. After not being able to see your boyfriend, Peter Parker, for two whole weeks due to work, school, and his crime-fighting as Spider-Man, you wanted to make sure you make your date with him a night to remember.
"Fuck..." he whispered breathlessly, his eyes drinking in your form as you approached him with a smile.
He knew if he were a cartoon, his eyes would've been replaced with hearts and his jaw would've hit the ground when he saw you.
"Hey, baby," You greeted, wrapping your arms around him, making sure to press your front firmly against him.
Peter inhaled deeply, taking in the scent of your perfume along your neck. He wrapped his arms around you, squeezing you tight as if this would be the last time he'd hold you in his arms again. He finally released you, his eyes looking over your form one last time before his gaze met yours.
"Christ, you look, just...I have no words." Peter laughed nervously, running a hand through his hair. The blush that danced along his cheeks was a clear indicator of how much he liked your outfit.
"I'll take that as a compliment." You smirked.
"If I had known you were gonna dress up, I would've suggested we do something else." Peter rubbed the back of his neck.
"What you have on is fine, Peter. C'mon, let's head to the arcade."
If you were going to make this a night to remember, you knew you'd have to put in a little more work to push him over the edge. After playing a few rounds of some retro video games on the arcade machines, you took a step back.
"I'm gonna get us more quarters." You pointed towards the coin exchange machine.
You grabbed the empty styrofoam cup that was reserved for your quarters. You stopped mid-step when you dropped the cup on the floor. You bent over to pick up the cup only to find yourself being yanked back by a familiar webbing. Your ass collides into Peter's front, his strong hands squeeze your hips.
"Where do you think you're going, huh?" Peter whispered in your ear as he pulled you upright. "You aren't getting away from me that easily."
"Peter, what if someone sees?" You warned, biting back a smile.
"You and I are the only customers here. Besides, this arcade isn't exactly easy to find." Peter reminded.
He was right. The arcade you chose was one of many hole-in-the-wall spots in Queens. It could only be entered through the back room of a laundromat. It was a well-kept secret that only a few locals knew about.
"What if someone catches us?" You warned as he bent you over on the arcade machine.
Your eyes fluttered closed and you whimpered as he spread your legs apart, his hands caressing your ass cheeks before giving it a firm squeeze.
"Then I guess we'll just have to make sure to make this quick, won't we?"
I initially had no plans to write anything else after this chapter, but I got inspired reading more Nathan Drake works, so I decided to write this piece. Dunno if this will be a series or not. Depends on the feedback I get.
Life was full of unexpected and unpleasant surprises. One of them was being let go from your job as a nurse because your company was downsizing to save money. You had been searching for weeks and had failed to find something that would pay the same amount you made at your last job. As luck would have it, Sully witnessed your little stunt of outrunning his partner, Nate and taking him down with your shoe.
Once he saw that and you spilled your life story to him by chance while drowning your sorrows at a bar, he decided to recruit you for a treasure hunt. The unpleasant part about it? Sully didn’t tell you the same thief who tried to rob you was also his partner-in-crime.
“So, did you come here to finish the job?” a familiar voice spoke beside you.
You turned your head to see the thief you encountered the day before standing at the bar you were sitting at, donning a shit-eating grin.
“Oh, you’d like that wouldn’t you?” You gave him a dirty look before taking a sip of your drink. “Not that it’s any of your business, but I’m waiting for someone.”
“Business or pleasure?” Nate sat down on the empty barstool next to you.
“Didn’t I just say it’s none of your damn business?”
“You always this pleasant to strangers?’
“Only to thieves like you.”
Before Nate could offer a rebuttal, Sully entered the bar and took the empty barstool on your right. “Glad you could make it, (y/n).”
“You mind if we talk somewhere a little more private?” You asked, shooting a glare at Nate.
Sully sighed, rubbing a hand over his face. “Nate, please tell me you told her.”
Nate snorted under his breath in reply. “Why? It’s not like she’d believe me if I did.”
“Tell me what?” You pressed on, now feeling on edge.
“Nate here is my partner,” Sully confessed, gesturing a hand to him.
“Please tell me that’s just your way of saying he’s your boyfriend.” You groaned.
“Gross! No, he’s not my boyfriend,” Nate’s nose wrinkled in disgust. “No offense, Sully.”
“Offense taken. Look, the point is I brought you here for a reason, (y/n). You’re fast, you’re resourceful, and you’re a trained nurse who was just let go from a company that didn’t appreciate you or your skills. Well, I’m here to tell you that we would if you’re willing to accept that this job is no ordinary job. It’s dangerous and we’re not the only ones after what we’re looking for.”
“As long as whatever we’re after will pay off my student debt and more, I’m in. I’m sick of job hunting and office politics anyway.” You said, polishing off the rest of your drink.
“Music to my ears.” Sully laughed with a smile. “I’ll order us a round of drinks.”
As Sully walked off to order drinks, you turned and face forward, ignoring the fact that Nate’s eyes were now on you.
“So, (y/n) is your name? That’s pretty.” Nate complimented with a smile.
“Don’t be cute. Just because I have to work with you doesn’t mean I have to like it or be nice to you. Got it?”
“You think I’m cute?” Nate’s smile morphed into a smirk.
You made the mistake of turning to look at him. Looking at Nate’s smug smirk somehow made your heart do a little flip inside your chest. And you hated how it made you feel. You shouldn’t be reacting this way just because he was attractive. He was a cocky, arrogant, little thief.
“No.” You lied, ignoring the heat that rose to your face.
“For what it’s worth, I think you are,” Nate admitted.
If only you knew how dangerous this job would also be for your heart working with Nathan Drake.
A/N: I had to make this into two parts otherwise this was finna be STOOPID long. Anywho, I’m kinda proud of how I wrote this one, dialogue is usually my kryptonite but this time it was weirdly easy lol. Again, thank you @darkficsyouneveraskedfor for your unintentional motivation. And I hope y’all enjoy it! Also happy birthday to the white man in this story sksksksks

‘Oh Lord, it is Him,’ you thought to yourself, mental voice dripping with dread and disgust, your sense of calm dissipating into the quiet atmosphere of the subway car. You quickly turned around and hoped he hadn’t noticed you, but cruel fate decided to take the opportunity to ruin your plan; instead, you had bumped into a man who had been walking towards the door as the train was approaching his stop; this caused your purse to fall and letting your wallet to come out and makeup bag to slide across the train floor and in turn hit the foot of the one person you were trying to avoid, Jermaine, your lousy ex-boyfriend of four years.
“Wait a minute, I know this bag,” you had heard him mumble from the other side of the vicinity. You had seen that he had picked it up from your peripheral vision and began looking for the owner.
‘Oh fuck me,’ you winced as you went to pick up your wallet that luckily had landed a mere few inches away from you, but you knew fate wasn’t feeling exactly kind at this particular point in time.
Now came the moment you had wished never been a slight possibility, talking to this no-good ass hat. You turned in his direction and mentally began to hype yourself up for an inevitably awkward situation.
‘Girl you got this, he ain’t shit and you KNOW he ain’t shit, your stop is coming up, just grab your shit and get thee fuck outta there ASAP,’ you prepped yourself, a constant loop of ‘You got this’ playing in your head.
“(Y/N),” Jermery started,“you look good,” a firm grip still on your belongings, as if trying to hold you hostage.
“Thanks…” you replied, awkwardness coating every letter of the word, you grabbed one of your arms to try to gain a sense of ease and comfort as you swayed looking everywhere except in his general direction. You knew you would have to face him at some point but you truly wish now wasn’t the time. There was no point in beating around the bush, you truly had to get this over with, so you grasped every last bit of confidence and assertiveness and did what needed to be done; you didn’t have to worry about his feelings anymore, you didn’t have to fear him anymore, you had to remember you were That Bitch and He was missing out on being with You and you would never get that twisted. You had Captain fucking America’s phone number in you phone at this very moment for Christ’s Sake!
You looked him directly in the eye, and stated simply, “I’d like my makeup bag please,” while reaching out your hand for your things. This sense of fire behind your being that let off a blaze of confidence and self-worth that left him blown away. This wasn’t the (Y/N) he knew and left in the dust, but he sure did want to waste her time once again.
He tried to turn his sex appeal and swagger on, he was confident this would work on you; and to be completely and utterly honest, any other time it most definitely would have. But today he would be sorely mistaken.
“So,” he started, biting his lip and looking you up and down; light skin antics on one thousand,“ how ya been?” Oh Lord, why have you forsaken me? You know this man does not care about me.
“Fine,” you stated dryly.
“That’s cool, that’s cool… How ya momma and them?”
“Fine,” still dry.
“You know ma dukes still asks about you after all this time?” This man wants to bring up his mother? Really?
“Well, did you tell Miss Shirlene why I haven’t come around in three years? Or did you manage to skip past that detail like you used to skip over telling other women you were in a relationship?” you retorted, you obviously knew the answer. Your stop was so close you could almost touch it, no time to lose; you snatched your make-up bag from his grasp and shoved it back into your purse.
“Nah, c’mon don’t be like that mamas, you know you still miss me,” he said while using his now empty hand to grab yours and used his thumb to trace little circles on the back of it. You had snatched your hand back from his grasp.
“Ohhh yeeaaahhh, because I missed the 1-minute fuck sessions, and the skid mark boxers always lying in the middle of the living room!” With every word, your ex partner grew smaller and smaller, confidence chipping away with every syllable, “And always having your rowdy ass home boys who didn’t have respect for my apartment ever,” The patrons of the subway car now all ears and reacting with the hissing sound of second-hand embarrassment or a ‘damn’ under their breath.
“Or all those girls coming to me as a woman talking about they deal with your sorry ass. And ALWAYS paying the bill when we went out to eat because you conveniently left your wallet -which NEVER had money it- at the house, and let’s not forget how I missed your loud ass snoring that kept me up all hours of the night.” By the time you were done dragging this man’s name through the mud with all the sadly true testimonies of your relationship, the train had stopped at your destination and the doors opened. You made your way to the exit of the train, you just needed one last step and you were home free, but you stopped before turning around telling him one last thing.
“So, no Jermaine, I absolutely do NOT miss your ain’t shit ass. Now leave me the hell alone before I go to Raven as a women and tell her that you up to your ain’t shit ways again. Bet you didn’t know I know about her, huh?” And with that, the doors hissed closed but you could clearly hear the sound of the entire car screech from your victory as it rolled away.
Walking with a fresh sense of worth, you realized in your moment of triumph, where you needed to be in a matter of minutes.
“Oh shit!” You scream before making a mad dash for your final destination.
Luckily the station was only a block away from the club, you just needed to walk fast and pray all the crosswalks were ready for you before you even approached them and you’d make it in time. A skill you had managed to acquire over the years was ducking and dodging through crowds with absolute ease.
You had managed to make it when a huge crowd began to enter the club allowing you to slip into the club with absolute stealth. You made your way to the back, similar to before you greeted coworkers over the loud music but this time you avoided your boss at all costs by hiding behind customers. You had made it to your locker and began to throw in your belongings into it and undress into your new outfit and heels. You plugged your phone into the community charger, knowing it would be safe back there, seeing as you were on good terms with everyone and they always looked out for you.
You sat in a chair in front of the vanity and took a good look at yourself, exhaustion written all over your face as you added on to the makeup you were already wearing. The other girls squealing in excitement about the big celebrity that would be in The Champagne Room tonight and how they were trying to weasel their way into performing in there; you had slowly began to zone out before hearing who it was that was causing the big fuss this evening, you didn’t want anymore excitement tonight, you just wanted to dance to a couple songs, get as much money as possible and get your ass back into your bed.
“Drink this, you look terrible,” Maria, the house mother, jokingly said with a smile; snapping you back to reality handing you a cup of coffee just the way you like it.
“Thanks Mari,” you took it graciously, blowing it before taking a sip.
“Of course, mi querida,” she replied before kissing the top of your head. This was exactly what you needed to get through the night.
“Also, Johnny wanted me to tell you: you, Diamond and Star are working The Champagne Room tonight,” she whispered as to not start another round of chaos in the dressing. You simply shook your head grateful that the two you were closest to would be right by your side the entire time.
‘Please have a lot of money,’ you silently prayed to yourself before taking another swig of your coffee and getting up to make this money.
~
You had entered The Room, mind on another planet to not realize who the group that was causing all the buzz backstage. Once again, it was Steve, Sam, and Bucky. You always seemed to run on autopilot when it came to dancing, doing flips and tricks but not really being there mentally. This was your way of getting through your shift without hating every minute of it.
Steve was in awe at how flawlessly you could move up and around that pole. You were so graceful but also so sensual. He didn’t recognize you at first, due to the change in makeup and different clothes (or lack thereof) and he had the strong urge to look away from your lack of clothing but he just couldn’t because he knew who this amazingly talented woman was; it was You: the waitress from the diner. Sure the other two girls were just as talented -Sam and Bucky seemed to think so, with the way they cheered at everything they did- ,but they could not compare when it came to your beauty. He just couldn’t keep his eyes off of you.
You had just finished your third song and you were grabbing your tips from the three men, not making eye contact with Sam or Bucky; but once you had made contact with Steve, you had felt the familiar sense of electricity from earlier coursed through your body. This feeling zapped you from your daydream, you looked at the hand that was handing money to you and then you realized who it was: Your Captain.
“Oh it’s You” you said with a sincere smile that lit up your entire face, the shyness had taken, over given the surroundings in which you had bumped into each other and he tried to find the right words to say.
“Well what are the odds,” he said, a timid smile in place. You giggled at his response.
“What are you doing here?”
“What am I doing here? What are you doing here? You really shouldn’t be working in a place like this,” Steve said softly.
Before you could respond, you could hear Sam let out an exasperated sigh while throwing his head back. He could just sense Steve’s ‘You shouldn’t have to do this’ speech coming at any moment because he did this the last time he had gone out with America’s beloved Super Soldier.
“Now don’t you start with this again. Just because you Captain America don’t make you Captain Save-a-Hoe,” he had said in a somewhat joking manner.
“Now who in the hell you callin a hoe, bird brain?” you snapped back, hands on your hips; ready to pop off if need be. Bucky quietly chuckled to himself saying, “I like this girl,” before taking a swig of his beer and sitting back to watch the argument that was bound to unfold in front of him; Diamond and Star equally entertained and taking seats next to the metal-armed man.
“Well if the platform heel fits,” he had clapped back as he stood to get closer to you.
“I work here, so I GOTTA be here, you came here by CHOICE Mister Parakeet. So what’s that say about you?,” you returned as you had a finger in his face to emphasize your point.
This caused a back and forth repetition of ‘Girl get your finger outta my face’ from him and ‘Or what?’ from you.
“Enough!” Steve shouted over the commotion. That was what rendered the Falcon speechless along with yourself and everyone else in the room. Bucky still giggling to himself about the ‘parakeet’ insult, he’d have to remember that one.
‘Now both of you, apologize.” The Captain had ordered. You and Sam both mumbling half-assed ‘sorry’s to one another, arms crossed and pouting like school children.
After the argument was over, you and the girls decided to talk with the men instead of dancing seeing as the crazy events that ensued made you all comfortable with one another. Sam was actually cool and you two ended up being the cause of most of the laughs in the group. Steve and you had grown closer as the evening went on.
“Would you wanna go out tomorrow?” he had asked suddenly, you raised your eyebrows at the question. Diamond and Star were behind Steve trying to convince you to say yes in their own silly ways. Without any hesitation, you looked him right in the eyes and said, “I’d love to.”
“How about dinner at 8?”
“Sounds perfect,” your smile growing.
“I’ll make sure to call you before, to make sure you’re ready on time. For some reason you can’t avoid a broken clock.”
