Cryptid of the Day: Black Lions
Description: While there have been lions born with abnormal patterns of black fur, a pure, jet-black lion is considered impossible by science. Yet, in 1940, an experienced hunter claimed to have seen a pack of black lions in South Africa. The sighting has been disputed throughout the years and is considered to be a hoax or a misidentification.

The soldier who died in Afghanistan’s Uruzgan Province Saturday morning was identified as Cpl Joseph Maciel, 20. He was in Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
Cpl Maciel died in the Tarin Kowt district of Uruzgan Province in Afghanistan in what is known as a green on blue, or insider attack (as we previously reported). Two other soldiers were wounded in the attack. The…
