"SHAPE SHIFT to STATE SHIFT." So many times in life when I'm annoyed or frustrated or angry I just want to get home and get on my mat to practice #yoga, to make shapes with my BODY, shifting how it feels. Then I notice that the tone and tempo of my BREATH has shifted as well. At the end after my svasana I realize that I have SHIFTED THE STATE OF MY CONSCIOUSNESS. Tomorrow (Monday) at 9:30 am at the {SLOW} Flow class at @sacredthreadyoga in O4W we will be making this specific lunge shape in all planes. On our knees, laying on our backs, standing and balancing on one leg. This asymmetrical shape puts our body out of balance and forces us to work the actions of pulling into the midline, helping to shift our default alignment more into balance. Now think about the asymmetry of your BREATH...are you inhales shorter than your exhales. What about the asymmetry of your life do you work more than your rest, or sad more than happy.
