Absolutely to both of your replies. The way Mal abuses her magic around people is awful and I’m so glad she’s not going to have that spellbook anymore.
She runs away because she wants him to follow her tbh. She wants that validation of being wanted, which I get but this is the wrong way to do it girl.
Also if you listen to the argument, instead of defending herself like she SHOULD be doing (because she actually has the right to use her magic, even if people like me disagree with it) she immediately jumps into ‘pity me’ mode with “BEN THIS IS SO HARD I’M DOING MY BEST” which is a giant red flag.
