OMG FLIP APPRECIATION WEEK!!! 😍😍😍😍This is my wildest dreams come true! Ok ok, I’m like 98% sure I may have sent in this prompt before but picture this, a grumpy Flip, a grumpy wife, having a tiff (not actually angsty or anything serious, just like a random little petty argument) and then them making up because they love each other and can’t ever stay mad at each other. I just have this picture in my head of Flip storming off and then coming back straight away like, “ok no that was stupid I’m sorry I love you that was really dumb I love you ketsl sorry 🥺🥺🥺” It makes me giggle and swoon at the same time haha 😂 Bless that lumberjacks heart, he isn’t so tough around his one and only 😂🥰❤️
Lol I love this!!! Please enjoy these headcanons :))
You and Flip have been together for a real long time. Longer than just about anyone else you know, that’s for sure. And the one thing that is more mysterious than anything else to all your friends, and even to your family, is how you have gone so long without a fight.
Because most couples have a big fight, don’t they? Isn’t that part of the deal? The yelling and the frustration and the “he’s in the doghouse tonight” and the “go sleep on the couch” and all that. Isn’t that the way it’s supposed to be?
No, you both reckon, it isn’t. Not for you anyway, never for you. That was a promise you each made the day before your wedding, you’d never be that couple that blows up in each other’s face. Even if it was hard, even when it felt impossible, you made a promise to always talk it out with one another before things got to that point, and so that’s just what you do.
...That isn’t to say that there aren’t petty fights that happen on a weekly basis.
Because ohhhhh boy, there are.
Fight is the wrong word, it’s a tiff. A stubborn tiff over the most mundane things. Things that are so low stakes that it’s okay to argue about them, because arguing is an American-Jewish pasttime, and really if one of you isn’t complaining about something then there’s got to be something wrong.
Usually it’s an argument that one of you starts for fun, starts on purpose, just to have the excuse to banter back and forth with other -- but occasionally it goes beyond playful, beyond simple affectionate teasing, and feelings do get hurt.
Usually, it’s Flip getting frustrated and saying something stupid that he didn’t really mean, in a moment of his temper flaring up when he didn’t realize it was.
So when he storms out of the room after saying something harsh, you can’t even count to ten before he’s coming right back and pulling you into a tight hug, kissing the top of your head and apologizing in his roundabout way of his,
“Sorry ketsl you know I didn’t mean that I don’t know where the fuck that even came from but you can’t say it’s all my fault when you’re the one poking the bear over here -- ”
And in the end you just have to roll your eyes because for all his attitude and all his huffing and puffing and big mean tough scowls, you know he doesn’t mean any harm when it comes to his girl.
