odette grew up as the middle child out of three. they were all somewhat spoiled with daddy’s money. they were the picture perfect family, but everything picture perfect must come to an end at some point. hidden secrets are almost always exposed. you see, daddy had been hiding an affair with his assistant for quite sometime, and one night, it all blew up in their faces. odette was about eight at this time. her father decided to run away with his mistress while her mother took full custody and responsibility for the children . to this day odette still has limited contact with her father. he has his own family now. (he’s still in NY)
the family managed to do fine without him in their life. when odette was ten, the family picked up and moved to cali. her mother took on a few more shifts at the hospital and as soon as the kids were able to work or take on small jobs, they had no issue doing so. the oldest son began doing this and that before taking on a job for the longest time helping out a mechanic. odette took on nannying gigs before taking on a job helping out at a flower shop. the youngest—well, she didnt have to worry as much. the four were taken care of.
high school was easy for odette but the thing she really loved to do was go down to the flower shop after school and help the owner with all the event orders. sometimes she was lucky enough to get to help set up for a big event with her. that was the moment odette fell in love with the idea of event and wedding planning. as soon as she was out of school, she started college but also pursued event planning even more with her boss.
at the age of twenty two, the girl finally started up her own business. she partnered with the flower shop and a couple other places that she had been familiar with growing up and soon, her business was booming. the girl had been placed in charge of making big parties, weddings, and even galas the best that they could be and she excelled at it.
at twenty five, odette found herself in a very serious relationship. the two were soon engaged and odette began to question the entire relationship. she got in her head about how the relationship with her parents went and was terrified of that being her future. the girl mentioned her fears once or twice and finally, she called everything off. (honestly this may be something i put a wanted connection in for. i want this to be a BIG part of her life and honestly it would be kinda cool to figure out the dynamic and if theres something still there between the two, if he’s moved on, or whatever!)
now, at thirty, her event planning business is still booming.

BIO
Grayson's childhood was relatively normal. No tragic backstory to unlock. She was born on Valentine's day, surprising her parents with the fact that she was a girl, when they had been expecting a boy. Hence the masculine name. It stuck, though and they gave her an overly feminine middle name to balance it out. She's always danced to the beat of her own drum, always been a bit of a free spirit. Almost always happy.
Even as a baby, Grayson was almost always smiling. As she got older, she continued to be a happy, bubbly little girl. Always looking for the bright side of a bad situation. Maybe a little too trusting and a little too forgiving. Those traits followed her well into her teenage and adult years, and though there have been a few who've let her down, she still continues to try and see the best in people. Everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves right?
She's been called gullible and naive more times than she can count, and maybe that's a little bit true. But it's not as if she doesn't know the world can be cruel, she just chooses not to let it bring her down. But don't take her kindness for weakness, she isn't afraid to stand up for what she thinks is right. If you try to take advantage of her good nature, she'll shut you down.

She was home-schooled through her senior year of high school but this past May she graduated from UC: Santa Cruz with a BS in biochemistry
She’s was on a pre-med track & will be taking the MCAT in the early spring in preparation for med school applications

Peyton’s younger sister is named Reagan
Reagan is a genius & I mean that literally
She is basically a mathematical prodigy & at six years old was doing math far beyond the level of her ten-year-old older sister
She is sassy and blonde and great -- like think an older version of Mary from Gifted pretty much
Peyton has chronic lyme disease
She contracted it at age 3 when she & her moms camped out for a night in Colorado during a road trip
The whole camping thing was unexpected & also Peyton was three & it’s hard to tick check a three year old & it was flu season so like...basically the symptoms went unnoticed because no one really thought much of the fever and fatigue
But when Peyton’s hearing practically disappeared overnight her moms knew something was up & lo & behold Peyton had that telltale rash on the back of her neck
Peyton still gets waves of exhaustion/fatigue (especially when she’s stressed and overworking herself) but really the only symptom that has been constant since diagnosis was her hearing loss
Peyton wears hearing aids but she doesn’t love them; though it was great for college lectures when she could connect them directly to professors’ microphones, they don’t do so well during normal conversations where everyone is talking all at once, & they can get uncomfortable
Peyton is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) & English (because that was her first language) but has a preference for ASL just because its easier for her to understand & the vibrations of her own voice in her head while she’s got her hearing aids on just makes her really uncomfortable
If Peyton is ever talking to someone who doesn’t know sign language/doesn’t have someone around to help aid with interpreting she can/will talk to people, she just doesn’t make a habit of it when she doesn’t need to if that makes sense?
She’s really good at reading body language, like she’s fluent in it, just because a lot of work she has to do in following conversations has to do with facial expressions & body movements, not to mention ASL is a really expression-heavy language
Peyton’s also pretty good at reading lips. She can’t do it from all the way across a room or anything, but if some random person is facing her, speaking clearly and not at too fast of a pace, Peyton can pick up maybe 60-70% of what’s being said. With people she knows well, that percent can increase to almost 90%, but it also decreases when people are mumbling/not facing her/speaking too quickly
Basically, in times of chaos, Peyton appreciates being kept in the loop via ASL if possible
Peyton’s moms are complete helicopter parents -- even though Peyton’s turning 22 in five days, she has less freedom than a typical high schooler and it’s no bueno
The fact that winter 2018 was one of the worst seasons for Peyton since she was diagnosed with chronic lyme probably didn’t help, if anything her moms are more hesitant to let her be an actual young adult
Peyton’s really just trying to take things one day at a time but her plate is overloaded and she’s stressed because she just wants away from her parents and out of Blackrock

Delilah Harmon was born on August 16th, 1995.
Her family is traditional and very religious. It makes no sense to name your kid Delilah, but her mom insisted. Her uncle is a pastor so Delilah spent every Sunday at church.
When she was five her sister Angela was born.
She had a relatively good childhood. Growing up in Blackrock Cliffs was fun, as long as she was dressed ‘properly’ according to her father’s words.
Both Harmon girls had a long list of rules they had to follow: no boys, no drinking, no drugs -- no sex. Delilah was pretty good at following just that for some time.
At sixteen, she saw her father kissing another woman in a car. A year later, she caught him kissing a different one at work.. and then, she caught him with a close friend of hers.
It put a strain on their relationship and it was when she started acting up. She got a boyfriend - from church, but it was enough to break her parent’s rules. She had alcohol, which turned out to be great, she went to parties. Dresses became tighter and Delilah was having fun.
Her mother disapproved but it wasn’t enough to get Delilah to stop. She was going to be eighteen soon and she could live her life however she wanted.
As a punishment for her ‘scandalous’ ways, her father refused to pay her college tuition unless his daughter went back to the good girl she was. Finding that highly hypocritical, considering she knew he was cheating on her mom the young girl decided to ask her grandmother for a job at the family dinner.
A couple of months ago, her father left a note on the kitchen counter, telling his wife how he was leaving them for a younger woman she loved.
Delilah wasn’t surprised, but it would be a lie if she said it didn’t hurt her. Despite everything, she had always been daddy’s little girl.
After this scandal, her mother became depressed and Delilah put an end to her dream to go to college. Her grandmother put her in charge of Rose’s diner, which ran in the family for generations. She only recently inherited the place and she’s doing her best to look after it.
