Enjoy a family day soaking up music, energy and history presented by the Godfather of UK Hip Hop, @rodneyp_uk Live debates, music and performances from @TyMusical @SwissWorld_ @LogicArmy #JasmineDotiwala, @SirCoxsone @LadywithGratitude #ClintDryer and more…Saturday 17 February, 12pm-7pm. • • @DJSnuffOne will play a compilation of classics to the hottest new music in the courtyard. Special live performances from the Godfather of UK Hip Hop Rodney P, artist and activist Logic, rapper Ty and more on the day. The legendary Sir Lloyd Coxsone will play the finale set bringing the bass lines and foundations of reggae music home to the archives. • • @blingwearboy will run a graffiti mural art workshops for children ages from 4yrs to 12yrs and upwards. • • Join the debate and discussion about the legacy of Black Sound, the importance of archiving and controlling your narrative. Hosted by Rodney P, we will debate how artists continue to lead the conversation in music making, and the importance of self-documenting and preserving archives to tell their own story, in their own words and images. Rodney P will be joined by Ty, rapper, producer and DJ Swiss, Assistant Commissioner for BBC2 and BBC4 Jay Davidson, actor Clint Dyer and BCA expert archivist. • • A family fun day for all ages celebrating UK’s Black Sound and its rich heritage, while soaking up the music, energy and history presented by Godfather of UK Hip Hop, Rodney P and Black Cultural Archives.
