Deludor absolutely despised beaches during the day. They were oppressively hot, and the sand was unforgiving as it burned the bottom of his feet. The water was like a bath and normally there were throngs of people all over the place. At least on this semi-private island the crowd problem was kept to a minimum, but the problems with the heat were still a thing. Stopping to get a drink, something that tasted of tropical fruit with a teasing bite of liquor, he set out to wander the shoreline.
He wore a pair of swimming trunks that went to his mid-thigh, and an unbuttoned silk shirt with a pattern of flowers and birds-of-paradise. The broad beach soon tapered down to where there was a wooded path. Intrigued, he started towards the path, but was distracted as he saw someone headed down the beach the other way towards him, seemingly coming from one of the direction of the main house. He flashed his award-winning smile, a fingertip tapping against the glass of his drink as he nodded his head.
“Lovely evening we’re having, aren’t we?” he asked idly, unsure whether the other was on his way somewhere specific or not.
