Fantasy royal au (for the both of us)

Give me an AU and I’ll tell you what my muse would be in it.

{I guess first off I should say I already like where this is going.

All right hear me out (this got long so it’s under the cut)

the whole Dragon Clan are elves or something, Clair is the princess of said clan. I think Lance may be king of the whole thing? Like Gehrman (or however you spell his name, I forget now) abdicated his power and gave it to Lance. Clair may or may not be jealous of this fact.

Like maybe the new rule is determined by a duel and although Clair beats Lance in said duel, Gehrman picked Lance over Clair despite it. Some nonsense about her “not being right for a ruler just yet”. But maybe eventually she gets to rule in adjacent to Lance. Maybe at the end of this whole story, she gets it because she proved herself to be absolutely worthy, hooray!

The whole thing with their clan is still dragons. Because dragons are cool regardless of any universe they are in. Dragon training goddamn Elves (or something).

The Dragon Clan remains a pretty exclusive group. I mean, they’re elves. They strike me as the secretive type. You gotta be let in by one of the members and all that jazz to get into the Dragon’s Den, standard fare.

Silver is pretty much left as is: an annoying human child. And I honestly don’t remember if it’s exactly established what you ave to do to get into the Dragon’s Den aside from maybe proving yourself to the Gym Leader (and I can’t check because my Soulsilver cart doesn’t work anymore *single tear* this is what I get for buying a bootleg on accident) and Clair spitefully letting you in but in case that’s wrong let’s just pretend that’s the case because I don’t know. ;w;

But yeah pretty much Silver trains some creatures (do Pokemon exist in the universe? I have no idea. but there are magic Pokemon-like creatures for sure) and challenges Clair to a duel or some shit to prove his worth as a Trainer of Whatever It is That He Train. That or like, it’s jut a thing the Dragon Clan people do. You challenge the best Trainer of the clan (but not the King because He Is Too Good, he’s like the final boss or something) and in that case, it’s Clair. In any case, Silver beats her (with some dirty tricks, as it was in the regular world). Clair is mad, but she has to let him in.

People getting in is very rare, but unfortunately they are stuck with Still a Sniveling Shitlord Silver™ for the beginning. Everyone has to deal with his nonsense but he’s good at what he does. But I don’t know, he somehow goes under some Major Character Development and becomes Pretty Okay™. Maybe Gehrman still sends him on little errands for them.

In any case, Silver ends up a half decent person as he is now and challenges Lance to a rematch (having lost to him when… I don’t know, they ran into each other when Silver was travelling one day, given that Rocket doesn’t exist in the universe. Or maybe it does.)

and Silver loses because he doesn’t have an Ice type Rip

But Lance is like “Okay I guess you’re all right because you treat your Creatures I’m Not Entirely Sure Are Pokemon properly now” and sorta takes him under his wing (fun fact: I am weak to the concept of Lance acting as a mentor/role model to Silver. shit boy I die) and THEN EVENTUALLY, FINALLY, Silver beats Lance in another rematch.

And I guess maybe there’s some bizarre rule where if you beat the king they’re like “well you earned a spot as Some Sorta Thing in the royal family” or whatever. And so FINALLY, Silver becomes a weird human prince.

Clair and he do not really get along most of that time. She’s kinda spiteful of him, maybe that Lance thinks he’s /so great/ and Gehrman too. Silver finds her embarrassing, and so they just don’t really get along. They probably have a looooot of fights. It’s usually a draw at that point. But over time, they kinda learn to tolerate each other’s existence?

So they get sent to go run an errand one day. A big… Royal Errand™ so they’re sent together because they’re both pretty no nonsense and although they both have a tendency to be a bit… fight-y, I guess? They trust them to do it. Whatever that may be, it goes wrong. Like they get double crossed or jumped or some shit. They pretty much have to work together to survive, and they do.

Or alternately, the Dragon Clan just Gets Attacked and they work together to defend it. Either or. Both are good.

They kinda get along more after that. Mostly because they see each other more as equals then. And it just sort of progressively gets better as time goes on, probably through both general interactions and  like…. having to do Actual Stuff together (Gehrman probably has a hand in pairing them together a lot haha) and they eventually become super close, like Adoptive Sibs and All is Good.

And both are such the type to be like “if u mess up my friend/sib I will desTROY YOU” and so no one messes with them. All is good and they are the best.

Also Clair becomes a Queen or something because she also had some Character Development in the story, just like she deserves. She rules adjacent to Lance and all is well
