The Gender In Real Life campaign is the inaugural #DorianCoreyProject 2024 social media crusade to highlight Black Trans, Gay and Queer elders whether they be local, national or across the African Diaspora. This campaign will continue throughout February and conclude in June 2024 ahead of Pride Month and Black Music Month. The concept of Gender In Real Life is to highlight the efforts of (hyper) visible Trancestors and Ancestors whose life work inspires Black LGBTQIA people today. We honor and thank them for their insights, sacrifices and introspective gifts. At a time where rights for Black people across Gender and Sexuality lines are increasingly being curtailed; in addition to multiple genocides and the ongoing global pandemic(s) that disproportionately affects Black/Trans people, the necessity of Ancestral Veneration in such a time is essential to our singular and collective wellbeing.
