Movement Mondays- hip hinge One thing that I feel like I’ve been preaching to people, clients, and even myself, is the simple concept and then difficult implementation of hinging from the hips. Between the knees and the hips, these are the two biggest joints in the body. Especially when we compare to the vertebral joints. What then became interesting to me was looking at the energetic meridians, in this case the anterior and posterior yang meridians, #stomachmeridian and #bladdermeridian. These are also mirrored in terms of superficial #frontline and #backline of fascia. Both energetic channels run in an intersegmental fashion mirroring the spine, until the hip. We then see those zigs and zags again. These zones are most intriguing to me. It’s a simple action that simply seems to deteriorate in our modern living. Give it a go, hinge from your hips when you pick something up from the ground, when you wash your face or spit your tooth paste out, when you’re doing dishes or cleaning the house. When also can you simply practice this modern daily awareness of putting the work into big joints and big muscles instead of your back? #backpainexercises #backpain #backcareyoga #movementismedicine #meridians #fascia #fascial #myofascia #myofascial #myofascialmeridians #hiphinge #hiphinges #functionalmovement #dailyawareness #bodyawareness #sittingisthenewsmoking #learntomove #adaptablepolarity https://www.instagram.com/p/Co40pdmrQFW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
