Blake, We love you. We miss you. I can't wait to see you again.
It's been Two Weeks
It's been two weeks since you left us. We miss you like crazy, man. The charity hockey game is tonight. They made jerseys with your name on them. "Team Blake". Everyone misses you. You haven't left us, yet. Not completely. We all can feel it. Today all the teachers wore their Team Blake shirts. Kids are still buying them. I'm gonna buy one tomorrow. We all talked about you, and the charity game. During the week for spring formal, we have a Team Blake day planned, just like spirit week during homecoming. You'd love it. My phone background is still the picture of the candle lighting vigil. I look at it sometimes, and feel my heart ache. It still hurts, but not as much anymore. I still get upset. But I think knowing that your death won't go unwritten or unnoticed makes it better. Everyone is so open. We miss you. We love you. I can't wait to see you, man. You're probably up there, singing for God Himself. Rest in Peace, Blake.
A week since the funeral
It's been exactly a week. A long, hard, sad week. I could not attend your funeral. I could not see you, lying there in your casket, a diploma in your hands. I could not see your mom, your dad, your brother, bawling their eyes out. I could not see my classmates clutching their heart in agony as they watch their friend be laid to rest. I could not bring myself to do it. School isn't the same. We're all quiet, fragile; it's like walking on eggshells. Someone brought up our computer class the other day. I nearly cried thinking about how kind you treated me when no one else did. They put flowers at your locker. Yellow roses- you'd like them. At your candle lighting vigil, they played a clip of you singing. Your voice was so beautiful. They told stories about you. Funny ones, sad ones, anything and everything they remembered about you. Your family spoke. It was so sad. Everyone cried. Even Ethan, who swears he didn't. He tried to be strong but he wasn't- I saw him cry. Blake, we miss you. I'm sorry that you left us. I'm sorry that you can't be with us anymore. I know you're still here though, watching over us. We love you. We miss you.
