1500-1599 Recap Part 60:
Adam and Karina’s youngest, Audrey was born and I was beginning to think that maybe the Ember family name was going to end when their daughters married since Adam only rolled to have four children and Audrey made four. Then I remembered Stephen’s sister and her two sons and figured that it would persist for at least the next generation maybe.
Ambrose and Ann showed their age and their twins became teenagers.
Isabel’s only child, Stephen, became a child.
Elizabeth had a son who died as an infant. Then Margaret had her son, John, and Blanche had her daughter, Agnes.
Audrey became a toddler.
Year 1581 Part 5:
TW/CW: Death, Stillbirth
In Glimmerbrook, Agnes’s family celebrated Sebastian’s thirty-fifth birthday but the joy wasn’t to last.
Not long after Sebastian had been performing a spell that did not turn out well and he lost his life. Worse yet, while helping to prepare for the funeral, Adam had injured himself and died a couple weeks later after failing to fight off the infection. Blanche was widowed and did her best as an expectant mother but the losses weren’t over with yet because the child she delivered was lifeless but she named her Jane all the same since Sebastian had wanted that name for a girl.
Thomasin and Philippa made sure to take time for themselves after the baby was born and they were glad when they could see their nephews out and about through town as well.
Wilmot checked in regularly with Talia’s tome and was happy to announce her latest pregnancy though she wasn’t really showing much. Adrian joked that if he hadn’t felt the flutter of new life he wouldn’t have been sure there was a baby in there. Parnell was a bit upset at the timing since things were just beginning to get settled enough to consider travelling and now she would need to pick up the slack when Wilmot actually had the baby.
Year 1577 Part 4:
Ruth and John II celebrated their birthday before being made to spend the better part of a month outdoors to prove that they were not vampires. That said Julian didn’t like the idea of potential vampire children in her town and while she couldn’t get rid of John as he was the heir to the family, she decided to marry off Ruth as quickly as possible before John took over as family head. So she set off as far as she could within reason to find a place for her.
Ruth and John knew what their aunt had planned and while Maria disapproved of her mother getting rid of her cousin, she couldn’t go against her wishes especially when Ruth seemed content enough to marry for the sake of the family even with Julian’s resentment for her.
Maria tried to distract herself when Wilmot visited with news that her brother had married and left their home in Henford for a place called Mt.Komorebi.
The best news came from Glimmerbrook as Blanche had delivered a son named Piers by the end of the year.
Year 1575 Part 3:
The day after Adrian, Thomasin, and Philippa left for Henford, Elizabeth went into labor. She was terrified of losing her second child as well and in her fear was upset that her father and sisters hadn’t left after she had the baby since it was only one day off but she immediately felt bad because she knew there was urgency in their departure. Though her fears ended up unfounded when she delivered a perfectly healthy baby girl she named Rachel after her mother.
In Glimmerbrook, baby Agnes celebrated her first birthday while Rebecca and Carmelo’s daughter, Eden, turned six in Henford.
While Samara’s health was worrying, Margaret soon discovered that she was with child once more though she was plagued by excess nausea which just added to her stress knowing that her mother was not long for the world.
Samara knew her daughters were concerned for her but she had come to terms with her condition when she had first taken ill and for her each additional day was a blessing. She wanted to meet her new grandchild but she found herself growing weaker and weaker by the day. Often times she couldn’t even make it to the bed to sleep.
Year 1574 Part 3:
William doted on his son, Margaret had worried that he wouldn’t care much for the infant since they didn’t have much of a relationship themselves but at least they could come together for their son which is more than what could be said for some couples. Parnell loved her little nephew but the idea of dealing with a crying infant herself made her shudder. She heard there was a potion in Talia’s tome that could prevent that and she wanted to get her hands on it when she got older.
In Glimmerbrook, Stephen seemed to be taking more after his father though only time could tell which parent he would look most like. While he was disappointed his mother had no intentions of giving him a little sibling he was glad that his aunt living with them was expecting a cousin instead. When family is so closely connected there really isn’t much difference between a sibling and cousin after all.
Soon Blanche delivered a little girl following Audrey’s first birthday and in the spirit of family names, her daughter was named Agnes after her grandmother.
Year 1571 Part 6:
Blanche had become close friends with a young man named Sebastian Voss who was a travelling merchant. He still wasn’t keen on settling down all that much but when he met her, he said he would have been a fool to let her go. So he asked her father for her hand and the two were wed within the month.
Alice trusted Thomas to find her a match and he did. The Dalton family in Forgotten Hollow had three eligible bachelors and the chemistry between Pedro and Alice was immediate. The two wed quickly. Alice wouldn’t say the words aloud but she was glad to leave Henford. Her mother and most of her siblings had died there as well as the man she knew as her father. She loved the Carlisles and her little sister but a fresh start was something she realized she needed. Besides, the two towns were fairly close. Visiting would not be difficult.
