Year 1581 Part 5:
TW/CW: Death, Stillbirth
In Glimmerbrook, Agnes’s family celebrated Sebastian’s thirty-fifth birthday but the joy wasn’t to last.
Not long after Sebastian had been performing a spell that did not turn out well and he lost his life. Worse yet, while helping to prepare for the funeral, Adam had injured himself and died a couple weeks later after failing to fight off the infection. Blanche was widowed and did her best as an expectant mother but the losses weren’t over with yet because the child she delivered was lifeless but she named her Jane all the same since Sebastian had wanted that name for a girl.
Thomasin and Philippa made sure to take time for themselves after the baby was born and they were glad when they could see their nephews out and about through town as well.
Wilmot checked in regularly with Talia’s tome and was happy to announce her latest pregnancy though she wasn’t really showing much. Adrian joked that if he hadn’t felt the flutter of new life he wouldn’t have been sure there was a baby in there. Parnell was a bit upset at the timing since things were just beginning to get settled enough to consider travelling and now she would need to pick up the slack when Wilmot actually had the baby.
Year 1578 Part 6:
TW/CW: Miscarriage, Death mention
Towards the end of the year Gilbert had disappeared for about a week then he just woke up in the garden with no memory of the week beyond vague flashing lights and everyone was just glad for his safety even Thomas’s ghost who was glad to visit. Though Gilbert did start to put on weight unnaturally fast which concerned Seema but Gilbert was determined not to let his own concern trouble him especially since it wasn’t like he could do anything about it anyways and just enjoyed the visits from relatives when their spirits could come.
Elizabeth was distraught to admit that she had lost a pregnancy but was both devastated and relieved when she learned that her niece Ellen had died from complications from her own miscarriage. The loss hurt but knowing that she was lucky to not have lost her life made it difficult for her to feel comfortable grieving but Thomasin assured her that grief is not a competition and neither is relief a bad thing.
Things began to look up once more for the family when Agnes celebrated her fifty-third birthday while her grandson Piers had his very first shortly after Elizabeth’s other niece, Joan, had gotten married into the Watson family.
Year 1577 Part 4:
Ruth and John II celebrated their birthday before being made to spend the better part of a month outdoors to prove that they were not vampires. That said Julian didn’t like the idea of potential vampire children in her town and while she couldn’t get rid of John as he was the heir to the family, she decided to marry off Ruth as quickly as possible before John took over as family head. So she set off as far as she could within reason to find a place for her.
Ruth and John knew what their aunt had planned and while Maria disapproved of her mother getting rid of her cousin, she couldn’t go against her wishes especially when Ruth seemed content enough to marry for the sake of the family even with Julian’s resentment for her.
Maria tried to distract herself when Wilmot visited with news that her brother had married and left their home in Henford for a place called Mt.Komorebi.
The best news came from Glimmerbrook as Blanche had delivered a son named Piers by the end of the year.
Year 1553 Part 1:
The Ember household continued to be full of joy while waiting for the new arrival. Stephen’s sister Joyce was coming ever closer to becoming an adult which is what Stephen and Agnes were waiting for so they could prepare to leave to establish a land just for spellcasters where they wouldn’t have to practice their magic in secret but, Joyce surprised them by saying that she wanted to come with them to create their haven one day late into Agnes’s pregnancy.
Agnes was delighted to know that her sister-in-law would be coming with them though she wondered if she wished to marry in town before they left or find a suitor along the way since she wanted her family to be happy. Though that was still a ways off so Agnes took to enjoying her time with her young children since travel wasn’t possible while pregnant anyways.
It wasn’t long into the year when Agnes delivered another daughter named Blanche.
Year 1552 Part 3:
Adrian celebrated his eighteenth birthday officially marking him as an adult which was daunting since he now had to truly think about his future. He still wished to travel but he didn’t want to leave Ambrose as a teen, he didn’t want to say the words aloud but he worried that if left to his own devices Ambrose would burn himself out before he even got the chance to do what he wanted. Instead, Adrian decided to talk with Arthur about helping him carry wares from town to town so it would keep him close for the time being.
Good news for the family continued when Agnes announced that she was once again with child. Thomas was overjoyed in anticipation of another grandchild. Though from the looks of Isabel and Adam, they were not looking forward to no longer being the babies of the household. Like Larissa before her, Agnes decided to open her home as a place for the other children of the family to take their lessons if they had trouble following from Larissa’s plan in Talia’s tome.
