In this image that opened the story, Kappa Sigma Epsilon members are seen throwing blankets from the beds out the window in preparation for a spring blanket party at Kansas State Teacher's College. According to LIFE - "Sociologists who have studied this peculiarly American form of group activity consider it a recreational by-product of the depression.
