I have always loved clocks, especially the movements and how all the gears fit together. For this clock, I used a live edge big leag maple burl, a piece of wood I have had for years stashed under the bench. It was actually a scrap from one of my 1st major commissions, a commission that was the turning point in quitting my cog job and starting my business. The burl is set in a frame I fabricated from steel and added a bit of patina to give it some depth. The back drop is patina, that was done using a combination of heat and sandblasting. This was a fun project that allowed me experiment with different techniques and materials.
