BLEACH 665. The Princess Dissection
Ok but what is the nature of Askin's poison such that it cannot be restructured into something harmless by Urahara's bankai? I suppose it's not comprised of reishi? But do non-reishi substances affect things composed of reishi so much? So shinigami (or Hollows for that matter) could be killed by ordinary pesticides? Bleach science hurts my head.
Oh, anon, Bleach’s lolsciencealso makes my head hurt xD;;; But seeing as it’s a hobby of mine to try andmake some sense of it anyway, let’s see if I can come up with something foryour question.
I think that if it were a regularGift Ball, like the ones Askin used on Yoruichi, Ichigo and Grimmjow, reconstructing the poison would totally work.
Inside the Gift Bereich, however, poison is being constantly pumped out. Perhaps this is why Kisuke was able towithstand it after going bankai in the first place, because he was actively deconstructingit while trying to fight. But I assumethis would take a certain amount of concentration to do, so it makes sense ifhe couldn’t do it perfectly while also battling it out with Askin. Neutralizing a normal Gift Ball, however? Yeah, I can totally seethat as something he’d pull off easily.
Another argument would be why notreconstruct himself to become immuneto the poison, but again, this would probably be a massive undertaking.

BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACH
OKOKOKOKOK
sooooo this week we got double chapters (FINALLY I’VE BEEN SO BLEACH DEPRIVED JESUS) and they were pretty satisfying. we got to see a ton of characters, i mean, Grimmjow, Nell, Toshiro, Byakuya, Kenpachi?? and then Askin’s death, and maybe Kisuke’s as well????
so much dramaaaaa
what’s not to enjoy?
AND Toshiro made a short joke about himself!?? to Byakuya??? IT’S UNHEARD OF. (maybe he’s been spending too much time with Karin or something) and Byakuya’s reaction to it was priceless, but again, this little scene was like something out of the Bleach extras - i loved it. give Toshiro more dumb jokes pls.
but Kisuke’s bankai, bruh, he be out there lookin like frankenstein with all them stitches. i’m like 97% sure he isn’t gonna die die, but there’s still that 3% that says - bitch, he just might. hope not, because that’d be lame. but i’d like to thank Grimmjow for comin in with the clutch, but, moreover, i’d like to thank Nel even more for being there to save those two mofos (Kisuke and Grimmy) after everything’s gone to shit for the umpteenth time. she’s probably plan z or something... (yoruichi being plan u, thundercat!Yoruichi being plan v, Kisuke being plan w, Kisuke’s bankai as plan x, and Grimmjow as plan y - don’t ask about all the other plans)
and of course, we gotta talk about Kenpachi coming in to ruin a bonding moment between a fanboy (Toshiro) and the senpai he admires (Byakuya) by cutting the titan thor’s fucking arm off. i expected nothing less tbh. i’m extremely excited to see this trio in action and i hope that they don’t get their asses completely kicked (again).
overall very fun and interesting chapters all around. great going, Kubo. may the trend continue and we get more chapters like these, with a lot more interaction between the characters.
Kubo pls.
Thank you for your help, Grimmjow-san.
Thanks @owl-in-daylight! So now we know why Bleach 665 was late by a week... as usual it's Kisuke's fault...
I’M CRYING SERIOUSLY ILU KUBO
