scenario: you're a new captain in the gotei 13 (or i suppose 14 in this situation ^^) and this would be your relationship with them/also some moments you might have with them! fluff was requested, and so i tried my best to write the (original) captains shown in the beginning of the anime.

⤷ genryusai is practically a father figure to you, he was the one to formally introduce you first, allowing you to have a warm welcome as a new captain in the soul society.
⤷ you hold genryusai to such high standards because of this, and its not just because of your outstanding respect for the man. he earns all the credit he receives rightfully so, and you're more than happy to verbal about your appreciation!
⤷ if you're ever troubled with something, you tend to head to him and ask what to do if you feel like it's necessary. most of the time though, you're far too afraid and think you're disturbing him, so you tend to second guess your concerns.

⤷ if you were being honest, you were quite intimated of her at first… she gave off the feeling that she didn't like you. so, naturally, you were always hesitant to speak to her, usually saying away when you had to speak to her.
⤷ this all changed though the moment you had the opportunity to have a real conversation with the woman! she shared her respect for the past captain of the second division, and you have to give it to her, her admiration was admirable.
⤷ on other occasions and after the two of you became closer, you told her about how you initially felt about her, and you both shared a heartfelt laugh together, showing the obvious change in your perspective and opinion of the woman.

⤷ he was similar to soi fon in regards of you being intimidated of him. he always seemed composed, and far out of your league to talk to him. but, when you quickly realized he wasn't all bark and bite, you tried your hand at talking to him, better acquainting yourself with him.
⤷ due to your bravery, you were able to see a side of him that wasn't initially shown. yes, he was someone who abide by the rules, but he was actually very easy to talk to. sure, he was sly, and was a little tricky to understand at times, but you got by.
⤷ you once requested to spar with him, wanting to see how the man fought in battle. and when the sparring match came to an end, you got the confidence to joke with your fellow captain mate, finding out that he actually had a great sense of humour.

“scared? of little ol’ me? you're quite the comedian, you know that?”

⤷ when you first joined the gotei thirteen, you made the accidental mistake of bumping into unohana, causing you to feel a burning sense of embarrassment on your face. when you quickly apologized, you were only met with a soft chuckle, and a reassuring hand placed on your shoulder, telling you that it wasn't a problem.
⤷ you decided to try and make it up to her, preparing a delicious pot of freshly brewed tea. you actually stopped by one of your frequently visited markets just for this occasion. and the moment you asked for the finest tea they had to offer, the store owner scrambled to find all that he had, and gave it to you for only half the original price.
⤷ when you came knocking on unohana's door, she only smiled when seeing your arrival. it seems she had anticipated you'd do something like this, so she wasn't surprised by your sudden visit. you ended up spending the entire day with her, sipping tea and chatting about anything that you guys came across.

“[name], dear, you know you didn't have to do this, correct?”
“oh–! yeah.. I know, its just—”
“you felt bad, and wanted to make it up? well then, that was very sweet of you! and since you're here, we might as well have a chat to accompany this delightful tea with. what do you say?”

⤷ your first encounter with him outside of work was definitely.. peculiar—to say the least. you had visited the fifth division to drop off some extra paperwork that somehow got sent to you, so, you took the time out of your day to drop the papers off… and then you were met with a stray cat causing a ruckus in the fifth division. better yet? the cat had ran towards you upon arrival, making you drop the papers accidentally.
⤷ you were obviously embarrassed, but when you saw captain aizen himself helping you with the scattered papers everywhere, you felt a sense of relief knowing that you haven't completed embarrassed yourself. but as you helped pick the papers up, too, you couldn't help the chuckle that escaped when hearing the frustration of the fellow squad five members still chasing after the cat.
⤷ upon collecting all the papers, (finally,) you ended up handing all the papers to aizen, stating that they were actually meant for him, and that you just happened to be dropping them off.

“these papers were actually supposed to be sent here to you.. sorry for the misunderstanding! I totally wasn't expecting a stray cat to scare me like that and have me make that mess in the courtyard. I truly do apologize for the inconvenience…”
“oh? well then, you have my sincere thanks, captain [name]. but you have no reason to apologize, it wasn't your fault, and you took your own personal time to come all the way out here just for some papers. it would be rude of me to send you off empty handed now, so please, follow me and I shall treat you to some snacks.”

⤷ to say byakuya was a reserved man, would be an understatement... you were visiting the sixth division because renji had asked if he could spar with you earlier that day. and you being you, agreed to his request. he had informed you that you could come by the sixth to spar, but in all honesty, you believed it to be because he was more familiar with the place. you didn't fault him for it though.
⤷ once you had arrived, you found your way to the open space renji was currently stationed at. what you hadn't noticed though, was byakuya in the distance. initially, he didn't plan on watching you two spar, but once he realized just how much his lieutenant was struggling against you, he stood back and observed.
⤷ your match against the red head ended fairly quickly, even after he requested multiple rounds. but, once his captain revealed his presence to you both, he quickly shut up, scratching his neck in embarrassment—knowing that his captain was watching him lose against you.

“ha.. ha.. hey captain! I hadn't realized you were nearby..! you weren't watching us spar, right?–”

⤷ when you first met him and had the chance to speak to him, you were intrigued as to why he kept his face concealed, never showing his face and how he looked. but, when you told you it was for personal matters, you simply nodded and didn't question the man any further.
⤷ in days passing, you tended to visit him more often whenever you had the opportunity. he was easy to talk to, and you enjoyed the stories he'd tell you. they fascinated you, but also showed you more about the captain purely through words.

“in the end, the whole situation turned out to be nothing…usually when I tell people this story, they get confused as to why I wasn't upset about the whole ordeal. but I think my reasoning is pretty simple, there was never a solid reason for me to get mad or angry, so I let it pass.”
“I think that's honourable of you, captain komamura. it’s not every day you see people with calm and collected thoughts. it goes to show you're a big softie on the inside!”

⤷ this man had to be one of the smoothest talkers you knew and had the pleasure of being acquainted with. you were all for taking breaks, but you prioritize me finishing any work you had first, and then opted to relax. shunsui though? oh, his bad habits were showing, and they started rubbing off on you.
⤷ he stopped by your division one day, deciding it would be a nice surprise to come and visit you. you weren't against it, no, not at all. but.. when the man sat himself down and started chatting away with you, that's when you realized just how fast time could fly…
⤷ it was evening by the time you realized you still had a stack of unfinished paperwork, and when you tried to politely signal towards your fellow captain that you had to get back to work, he only chuckled, brushing it off and saying how it was ‘no big deal.’

“uh.. captain— do you perhaps think it's about time we wrap this up? you stopped by during the afternoon, and now its sundown… really, it appreciate the company, but–”
“oh captain [name], you're not sick of me already, are you? c’mon, the nightmares has only just begun, and I still have some much more to chat about!”
yeah.. you weren't gonna get any work done. but, perhaps this is exactly what you needed, and the man knew, helping ease your mind of endless work.

⤷ when it came to kaname, you actually were the one to initiate most of the conversations yourself. it had even become a special thing in your guys day. you'd stop by his division (usually unannounced,) and then talk his head away with whatever was on your mind.
⤷ the thing that drew you to kaname so much though, was that he was an excellent listener. he also gave replies that confirmed he was listening, not just having you chat away in the back of his head as he did his own thing.
⤷ it actually got to a point, that when you'd start off with one of your rambling sessions, the man would stop whatever he was doing, and give you his full, undivided attention. sure, he couldn't see you, but he sure could hear and sense your energy. and that energy was very welcomed.

“and then you would never guess what happened, captain! I hadn't accidentally dropped all the papers in the courtyard, all because a simple cat ran in my direction! oh, how humiliating that was..”
“oh how I can only imagine the look that was on your face. im sure your ears were burning with heat, huh?”
“captain tosen.. you're not helping my case–”
laughing the embarrassment away was what you opted to do with kaname, though. he understood you, and helped make light of the situation to help you feel better.

⤷ spending time with toshiro made you learn one important thing about him. that being, he had learned to tolerate rangiku's shenanigans to the tea. whether it be the woman ranting about a small inconvenience that happened to her last week, or an event that happened who knows when, toshiro tolerated it all.
⤷ now, its not like he tolerated everything. when he realized she would rant to him when she didn't want to do her work or one of her tasks, you saw the way his eyebrows increasingly furrowed, which made a laugh slip here and there.

“rangiku.. I swear, captain [name] is here visiting, and you still refuse to do your work? you're bringing shame to the tenth division.”
“but captain! im telling you, that vendor at the market was totally rude for no reason! im sure [name] can attest to that if they ever joined me to run those errands!”
the erk on toshiro’s forehead only became more evident as the woman kept ranting, making you have to cover your mouth and suppress yet another laugh. oh rangiku.. we all know you mean well.

⤷ you initially never paid this man much mind, just simply going on about your day. that was.. until one afternoon. you were taking a detour, which resulted in you passing by the eleventh division. what caught your attention, was a loud booming voice, telling everyone to charge at them all at once.
⤷ you being curious as ever, you decided to take a peek at what was going on. your eyes had only widened the second you saw many of the squad eleventh members all laying on the floor though.. some were in piles, while others tried crawling away. it looked like a battlefield, and you didn't want to stick around to find out what was going on.
⤷ oh how unlucky you are though. of course things don't go your way..!

“ah– c-captain.. captain [name]! at last! someone who can save us!”
“[name] is here?! where! now thats someone worthy of dueling against me!”

⤷ he was definitely a strange one.. you'll give him that. but, he sure was a genius at best. his creations were also.. questionable, but he helped in many more ways people give him credit for. its just that.. well.. if he asks to perform an experiment with you, you politely decline the best way possible.
⤷ he never pushed you to do anything, which you were grateful for. but you also appreciated the fact that he let you watch him do his work sometimes. you got to learn a thing or two about him, and this allowed you to have a better understanding of him and that ever fascinating mind of his.
“say, captain [name], care to interest yourself in a new experiment of mine? you have my word that all your limbs will stay intact!”
“uh.. no, no! I think I'll uh.. have to pass on this one. but do explain it to me! im still interested in learning what you're up to this time.”

⤷ jushiro is probably one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. like, hands down. not only did he welcome you immediately, he regularly invites you over to have tea with him and rukia. of course, you being you, you happily accept with a gleeful smile. you also opt to bring some of the snacks as a thanks for their hospitality and presence.
⤷ you actually visit so often, that when you start to near the division, many of the squad members greet you happily, always asking to confirm if you were there to see jushiro. your answer was always yes ninety-nine percent of the time by the way.
⤷ but when it became known to kyoraku that you frequented the thirteenth division, he too would stop by, subconsciously creating a welcoming atmosphere like none other.

“greetings, captain [name]! captains ukitake and kyoraku are already inside, awaiting your visit. they said they prepared new tea and wished for you to head on over immediately and try some!”
