I’ve wanted to talk about this scene for the longest time but just haven’t???
Notice how when Jim’s calling everyone out about the feud Jerome is towards the back while everyone else is more towards the front (I know they’re spread out everywhere but in this shot in particular he’s in the back of them). I thought it was a nice way to show how disconnected he is from everyone whether it's because of Lila or his own accord.
I know people in the fandom have talked about it before that Jerome must've been fooling everyone from the get-go with the 'good son' act since they didn't suspect him but what if it was more them not really knowing him at all??? Jerome could've just been quiet and kept to himself all the time so they never really engaged with him. Sure they greeted him in passing but other than that I doubt they sat and held conversation with him. And Lila's abuse added to this since everyone at Haly's most likely knew but never said anything about it because its "not their business" and didn't want to get involved.
