Ngl I kinda love the idea of Blendel being like, super long game
Like they are old married husbands
Like before Aaarrrgghh even met Blinky and became his best friend Blinky and Vendel were already troll married and bickering
Everyone constantly forgets because they're just such a bizarre antagonistic couple and then there's Aaarrrgghh there, super friendly and cuddly with Blinky and a really outwardly affectionate person ESPECIALLY with his best friend Blinky. Everyone just kinda... assumes Blinky and Vendel split up ages ago, the ones that knew they were together in the FIRST PLACE anyways.
But no, Aaarrrgghh's just cuddly and affectionate with everyone he likes! Vendel knows Blinky needs more love and affection than a grouch like him can bother with so he's actually quietly pleased Blinky's got such a loyal friend
And this presents the lovely options of
1) Blinky and Aaarrrgghh are just super close friends, Aaarrrgghh gets third wheeled whenever Vendel comes around but he loves to just sit back and watch the two old lovebirds bicker.
2) Aaarrrgghh becomes a third wheel of their relationship in the sense that he's the love and affection part, maybe not entirely romantic but that's what Vendel and Blinky do. He's a part of the relationship for most things but occasionally will step back and just fondly watch the other two.
3) Full on ot3 because Blinky didn't watch himself and he goes to Vendel in Full Blinkous Dramatics crying because he didn't mean to fall so deeply in love with his friend please could you ever forgive me my love- Vendel whaps him upside the head until he shuts up and tells him to invite Aaarrrgghh to their next personal outing, no big deal, Vendel already appreciates Aaarrrgghh's more quiet company rather well, if Blinky likes him so much Vendel's sure he'll grow on him too. And then they do!
All these options fill me with love and joy and I can't stop giggling
