The most important rule I have for myself about fic commenting is that no matter how well-intentioned I am, there is no such thing as "later". Either I comment on the fic on first read when it's open in front of me no matter how incoherent I might be or how much I fail to do it justice or I don't do it at all, and that's just how my brain works.

"don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good" also applies to fic comments, is what I'm saying.

Ahh, beautiful! No matter how much a small bunch of terminally online, perpetually offended individuals shriek about AO3 being The Devil's Work, the vast majority of people know a good archive when they see it and value freedom of expression.

There's hope for humanity yet.

I investigated the D&D tag for the 1st time on AO3. (IDK why the words “Forgotten Realms” are synonymous w/D&D but I’m new to the game.) A lot of people are thirsty for Asterion, who apparently is a vampire. I looked him up. Not sure what his personality is like in canon (yeah that’d make a difference), but I’m saying he’s meh. I’m not looking for any Me/Asterion fics anytime soon is what I’m saying. But to each their own!
