ECCジュニア田村町教室の中村です。 いろんな事があって情緒の波が激しすぎるこの4月🙃 色々ある原因の一つが、とある漫画だという話は、長くなるんでやめましょう。 あ、仕事は努めて冷静に、、、です。

さて、ちょっと前の計算クラスでの話。 （！！ECCには算数、計算のコースもあるのだ！！） 花粉症真っ只中の私、豪快にくしゃみが出たのです。 だからと言って、別に何かが起こったわけでもなく、淡々と計算問題に取り組む子どもたち。

くしゃみから1，2分経った頃でしょうか。 突然、一人の生徒が

「Bless you!」

と言ったのです。

(God) bless you.は、「神のご加護を！」ですが、英語圏ではくしゃみをした人に対して「お大事に！」というニュアンスで、カジュアルに使われる言葉です。 ECCジュニアではおなじみ表現の一つですね。

その子は、英語のクラスにも来ているのですが、恐らく私がくしゃみをした時に

「あ！あれ言わな！あれ！何やったっけ！あれ！」

って脳内で一生懸命引っ張り出そうと必死で考えたんでしょう。 で、ついに思い出して「Bless you!」と言ってくれた🧡

最初時間差がありすぎて、私の方が「？」ってなったのですが、「あぁ！さっきのくしゃみに対してね！」と気付いた時の嬉しさよ🤩 子どもたち一人一人が、自分のペースで言葉を自分のものにしていく姿は、いつ見ても感動します。

はい。 写真は、全く関係ないですが、丸亀のシンボル、丸亀城。 そしてお城の前の通りを、現在華やかに彩っている牡丹桜🌸 今、本当に見頃です。

先日、郵便局に用事があったのですが、うちから一番近いところではなく、わざわざ少し離れた本局まで足を伸ばし、そのままお城周りをぐるっと回ってきました🚴‍♂️

総高日本一の石垣に、日本一小さい現存天守が素敵な丸亀城。 因みに日本一深いと言われている井戸もあるのだ✨

そんな丸亀城ですが、2018年の西日本豪雨や、同じ年の台風の影響で、南西部の石垣が一部崩落しました。 復旧整備事業は今も続いており、その様子を見る事もできます。

石垣の石の一部は、元々グラウンドだったところに並べられているのですが、これ、元の石垣と同じところに同じ石を配置していくという、気が遠くなるパズルなのだそうです😱 パズル解析に使われているのが、「マッチングシステム」という顔認証システムと同じ原理を応用したものなのだとか。 4,200ピースだそうです🤯 いやもう、市民としては、ただただ応援するだけ。。。

どこから見ても美しい丸亀城が戻ってくる日が楽しみです。 あ、一部石垣工事中ですが、丸亀城周辺を歩いたり、天守のところまで登ったり出来るのです✨ 丸亀へお越しの際は、丸亀城へ是非どうぞ～！（←●●仏壇店の航空広告風に読むのが正解。）

One of my favourite part about sneezes is the “bless you” afterwards. And I love multi-lingual partners blessing the other in the native language because it seems so soft and personal for me and i love it.

Happy Sunday, boys, grrls, and my beloved non binaries! I hope today brings many blessings. Today I wanted to share with you my favorite homily from one of my favorite priests. A homily is a sermon or a story that helps drive a moral message home. My priest told us how he once went to a sanctuary for butterflies and it was magnificent. There were beautiful butterflies flying all over, more than you could ever count. He was shown where they were all emerging from their cocoons and found them struggling free and taking flight. He noticed one was having a harder time than the others so he took out his pocket knife and carefully ran it along to cocoon to help the butterfly break free. Well, it worked, the butterfly with the help was able to pull itself free but something unexpected happened. The butterfly couldn’t fly. The other butterflies beat their newly developed wings to escape and their struggle to freedom gave them the strength to fly. Without the struggle, the butterfly could not fly and would not survive on its own. The moral here was something I took to heart even as a child. As much as we’d like to help others, our help can take their strength and growth away from them. Support others but don’t shoulder their burdens. Those burdens were intended to allow them to grow. Without being able to act for themselves or beat their own wings we are dooming those we want to be helping by overstepping where it is not our responsibility. We start learning the lessons that were meant for others and not ourselves. It’s not our responsibility. I hope whatever today brings you, you will be ready for it. We keep experiencing our lessons until we are ready to learn them. We have enough on our plates without taking on the lessons of others. I hope today is full of love, light, and blessings for you all. Hang in there.
