Thank you for always recommending amazing fanfics! Do you have any other recommendations? Also if you could fan cast Cara for the Allegiant movies who would you choose? They better cast her for Ascendant.

Hello!  Thanks for writing, and also a huge thank you for your wonderful Theo James blog.  It brings me a lot of joy.  :)

I have tons of Divergent fan fiction favorites, and you can find them all on my FFN page and on my AO3 page (just ignore the Violate/AHS Murder House fics, unless you also like them).  Many of the fics are the same on each link, but there are some stories that are only on AO3.  For instance, be sure to read all of LolaBleu’s stories, which are some of the best there are.   Also, I consider wee kraken’s Killing Four the best Divergent fan fiction ever written.  Finally, be sure to read all of Milner’s stories, as they are masterful, as are Windchimed’s canon stories, Determinant and Prior Rings. 

As for who I would cast as Cara for the Allegiant movies, I don’t really know.  She really needs to be a part of these two movies, but since the producers seem to consider Zeke insignificant (which irritates me to no end), I doubt they will include her.

Do you know of an M fic where Tobias and Tris stay in Abnegation? I love Divergent in Abnegation but was wondering if there was one a little more frisky. ;-)

Well, this proved to be harder than I thought.  There are lots of Tris and/or Tobias stay in Abnegation stories on my favorites list, but none of them are M-rated.  I can only offer the following three options, but they do not fit your description exactly.  Tris may have stayed in Abnegation, but Tobias is actually factionless, or they don’t remain in Abnegation throughout the whole story.   The final one is M-rated, and does fit your description of both staying in Abnegation, but the author hasn’t gotten to the M-rated scenes yet.  

Milner’s Whatever It Takes is an amazing and beautifully written story.  Be sure to read it right away, if you haven’t already.  

Lola Bleu’s into the blood we sink and burn is only a two chapter story, but it packs a whole lot of emotion, angst and smut into those chapters.  

Choices by thefactionlessauthor is a WIP, but so far, is very good.  

If you want other Tris or Tobias stay in Abnegation (at least for part of it) stories, but that are not M-rated, I can offer the following:

Do you know any angsty fourtris oneshots?

Thanks for this question!  It is kinda ironic you asked this.  After reading the marvelous one shots by Milner (The First Time) and Windchimed (Intrusion and Waiting, technically a 3-shot), it made me want to post a list of my favorite one shots.  Since you asked for angsty ones, the list is a bit shorter, but here goes:

First off, if you are familiar with Lola Bleu’s stories, you should definitely read her Pictures on the Wall.  It is a collection of drabbles (similar to one-shots) in her various universes, such as Patterns and Fairytales.  The ones that are more angsty are: Jealous Four, Hactivist/Activist, War of Attrition, Four Makes An Appearance, One the Road and Patterns and Fairytales Alternate Ending. 

Technically a two-chapter story and not a one shot per se, but if you haven’t read Lola’s into the blood we sink and burn, do so immediately.  It is definitely angsty and so beautifully written. 

Muscle Memory is an excellent one shot and very moving. 

Say Something is another good one shot.  Tris is lethally injured and Tobias struggles to make it through.  It does have a good ending, so don’t worry.  

Wide Awake is a M-rated one shot that will leave you heartbroken at the end, so be warned.  

‘Tis But the Truth in Masquerade is one of my favorite stories.  It is not technically a one shot, but instead a series of AU short drabbles about if Four & Tris had chosen differently.  Some of them are angsty, so I included it.

Free is an AU.  It has angst re: the abuse Tobias suffered at the ends of his father, but does have a hopeful ending.

We Never Got Out of Style is definitely angsty, but the happy ending makes up for it.  It is really well written, as are the rest of TheaWrites’ stories.

Close My Eyes Forever is another one that is angsty (Tris and Tobias are broken up at the start), but the ending is uplifting and hopeful. 

Stay With Me is a one-shot from Tobias’ POV when Tris leaves for Erudite, so definitely high on the angst factor. 

Before Daylight  and Her Tobias are both full of the angst associated with the ending of Allegiant, so get those tissues ready. 

Tips is an excellent long one shot that I recently discovered.  I don’t know if it is truly angsty, but definitely full of uncertainty and trepidation.  I highly recommend it.

One of the most heartbreaking one shots I know of is One Small Moment.  

Worth Fighting For offers an alternate ending to Allegiant, but getting there is full of worry and angst. 

Finally, I have to mention my all time favorite one-shot Touch by one of the best Divergent fan fic authors, wee kraken.  It is not exactly angst-ridden, but it is beautiful.  And if you haven’t read her stories yet, you need to do so urgently.  Her Killing Four (don’t worry, he doesn’t really die) is one of my favorite fan fics.

Do you know of any GOOD fanfics post allegiant where Tris either surivives or comes back somehow?

Hello!  Thanks for asking this question.  I do know quite a few post-Allegiant stories that I feel are either very, very well written or at least a lot of fun to read.  

First, be sure to read Lola Bleu’s Patterns and Fairytales universe, which includes Patterns and Fairytales, 40 Weeks, A  Fairytale Christmas and the work-in-progress The Happy Ending.  She also has two work-in-progress stories- Returning and Appetence- that are both set post-Allegiant and Tris survives.  Lola’s Divergent fics are the best stories out there, so read them right away if you haven’t.  They are  all here: Bleuwrites.

Convergent by E. Laine Sparrow.  It is one of my very favorites.  It is beautifully written.  

Cordy’s Vision’s Resurrection and the sequel Resurrection: The End.  You have to be okay with Tobias briefly being with someone other than Tris, though.  But they are a very good, enjoyable read.  You can find all her stories here.

Both Don’t Think, Just Jump and Heard Your Voice by Fourtris Eaton are great, fluffy reads.  You can find them here.

Montana’s Four and Six is one work-in-progress story that I really, really love.  It is a great combination of a post-Allegiant story and a what-if-they-stayed-in-Abnegation story.  You will have to read it to see what I mean.  I hope she ends up finishing it one day.  

Moony-Blues’ And Then It All Comes Crashing Down is an unfinished story, but so well worth the read.  It occurs a long time after the end of Allegiant, but Tris is back, so all is good with the world.  

Amymagnolia’s It Could Have Been Worse.  It is shorter and more fluffy, but still an enjoyable read.  

Worth Fighting For by futurecullen05 is a short one-shot.  It is very romantic. 

Allegiant- alternate ending by ney11 is a wonderful one-shot.  It’s M-rated, so please only read if you are of an appropriate age.  

In Another Life by pearly-mist is another great one.  I loved the epilogue especially.  

A Promise Kept by cherry.blossom is another terrific one-shot.  There is a brief M-rated scene.  I love this one in particular because Tris keeps her promise.  

Finally, you should read the Determinant stories by Windchimed.  These are not post-Allegiant, but instead are an alternate third book to replace Allegiant and Tris does not die.  The stories include Determinant: One Choice Will Change Everything, Becoming Determinant: Tobias’ Story (which is Divergent from Tobias’ POV) and the work-in-progress masterpiece Prior Rings.  You can find all of them here.
