Never give up. I made the decision never to quit no matter what, no matter how many times I fail, or how many times things get difficult, two things are going to happen; I either going to succeed, or I going to die trying! So now, I tell you to begin and make the decision that I will never ever going to quit no matter what, then you will succeed, it’s as simple as that! When I started this project, I knew that it will be hard in terms of funds for me to reach out all the districts with the team, I want to move with, but nevertheless I won't quit no matter what. Introduction of Lindyhop and Swing Dance in Northern Uganda is now in three big districts. I will be following up to see the growth of the dance and also sharing with them more platforms. Calling for more support so that we can finish up this project in Kitgum district well. I know people are really eager to watch the videos of the workshops. Happiness of Swing Dance with @smilingheartafricafoundation children in one of the slums called Naguru that's found in Kampala city. It's there first time ever to practice Swing Dance and they were so happy for it even to continue always with me going there. The choreography was from @jeanlouis1120 who shared with me because he had been following my work for awhile and he also wanted to share the love with children of Uganda 🇺🇬 through dance that's why he shared that choreo with us. This same choreography has been done by different dance communities in Uganda 🇺🇬 and I will be sharing them as others, it's their first time ever but others no and you see the difference of happiness among them. Am so happy that #Lindyhop and #Swing dance is growing up slowly. Swing Dance and Lindyhop in Uganda 🇺🇬. Has different communities in Uganda 🇺🇬 have started to welcome swing dance and Lindyhop in their communities like the way Mbale dancers in Bugema town did and now we shall keep following up on how they are continuing with the training always. Teaching Shimsham to these young girls and boys was lovely even though they were saying that it's really so hard for them but the first time that's what happens in every new dance learning, it's the same thing to us, because music 🎵🎵 was so tricky. We need to thank everyone who is always mentoring, motivating and encouraging us to keep sharing the love of Swing Dance and Lindyhop in Uganda 🇺🇬 because together we can make it big. During my Cross district tour with the motorbike has I reached Lira district that's where I met these amazing dancers called @Supreme Dancers who have been struggling so much with the survival during this Covid19 situation, because they are full time dancers and through performance in clubs and churches that's how do usually get their income from but now, they are all closed, no where to get from but the universe, motherland and God is great always as they survive slowly. They told me Okurut has you have come to Lira, let's use these little time you are here to do something and they were so much interested in #Lindyhop and #Swing Dance, so among the choreographies I have done, we decided to do the one from @RobinCarlson and @Jerryfoote of Dance Force Production with the song called #I'm Crazy'Bout My Baby' by @naomisdevils . It attracted attention of many people has we performed in down town market and we left people with a lot of question marks ❓❓❓ because they didn't understand what kind of dance, we were dancing at all, has they have never seen it before. Now I need to go back to Lira for atleast one to two weeks teaching these dancers and not them only but there are many groups of dancers there Support me through this project of sharing Lindyhop and Swing Dance in Uganda 🇺🇬. We have been so quiet has with the lockdown in Uganda 🇺🇬 and now resuming back on training slowly, so now we are dropping you some of the choreographies which were sent to us by lovely and amazing dancers around the world. Here is Robin and Jerry who got the chance to choreograph a piece for the young dancers of Heart of Dance African Rythm through Swing Dance Uganda. They also said "Thank you Okurut for reaching out and working so hard with those wonderful dancers". Still continue with appreciation to Naomi & Her Handsome Devils for recording a great version of I'm Crazy 'Bout My Baby. We know that Covid19 has distracted over craziness but we can still be crazy about our babies ahahahahahahahah. So Robin Carlson & Jerry Foote are the Directors of Dance Force Productions, an award-winning professional dance company which provides dance entertainment for corporations, charity galas, fashion shows, Mitzvahs, and private parties. They have been featured on Discovery Health Channel, the Food Network, and performed for NBA All Star Game VIP Party, the All-Star Baseball VIP Party, Beyonce's 21st Birthday Party, as well as the Broadway cast of Chicago. They have performed with Maroon 5, One Republic, Los Lonely Boys, Taylor Dayne, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Gloria Gaynor, Archie Bell, Jeannie Tracey, Martha Wash, The Bellamy Brothers, The Fab 5, and the Village People. To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him. Happiness and excitement which was filled me and children whom I always teach yoga and swing dance after receiving a food relief for their families.
