Alador after divorcing Odalia
Alador is the kind of guy who would endure years of abuse from his wife, and even watch his kids go through abuse, and then one day goes to the "Am I the Asshole?" subreddit and be like "AITA for asking my wife to let me spend time with my kids?"
Why do I see nobody talking about this?? Okay, so I've seen a lot of TOH shade on Odalia (which is totally deserved), but there's one thing that most people are saying which I can prove is untrue: she's stupid. Before anyone comes after me, let me show you why:
Okay, so as we know, Odalia is an Oracle . It's been stated a few times throughout the show, and we have even seen some of her magic and action. But then we get this:
This is NOT Oracle magic. (It actually looks more similar to illusion magic.) And here's the thing: as stated in the show, once a witch joins a coven, their magic is limited to ONLY using the kind of magic their decided coven associates with. The only kinds of witches that can use a variety of magic are (1) the select few who are in the Emperor's Coven, or (2) wild witches/ witches who don't have coven sigils.
Last I checked, Odalia isn't in the Emperor's coven.
THAT'S why she agreed to still assisting with the Draining Spell. It's been explicitly stated that the spell only targets those with coven sigils so she knew she'd be okay.
But it also makes what she said to Alador all that more twisted.
"I've been meaning to find a more competent business partner anyway." She KNEW he wasn't going to survive the spell but she went along with it anyway.
But doesn't she need him for Blight Industries?
Well that's the other thing. As we know, the Blight family has grown to be very wealthy and very powerful. With more than 90% of the boiling Isles literally dead, the few whom remain would need support. And what better source would that come from other than one of the most powerful, still alive, families of the Boiling Isles? As a result, the Boiling Isles will become more dependent on the Blight Family, which will increase their power. In this way, the Blight Family would indeed be above the rest.
However, that also means that they'll have no more use for Abomination based weaponry.
There's also the thing where it seems like she does her best to keep her children as little like Alador as possible. I mean she does not respect him at ALL. Other than exploiting him for his work, not giving him a break, and literally using their children to keep him in line whenever he even goes a little against her, she also isolates them from him, and even tries to dye Amity's hair green ( in notably the same shade as her own), erasing that similarity she has with her father. Even though Amity is on the abomination track, Odalia does give her a noticeably rougher time than she does with the twins.
Plus, Alador may have been trying to connect with the kids more after the Bones Borough Brawl, which I doubt Odalia was happy with.
So basically, him being gone would have no to mildly pleasant effect on her.
In other words, Alador is expendable, and Odalia isn't above not sacrificing him for her own benefit.
She was seriously ready to let her husband (and childhood friend) die just so she could stay ahead. How messed up is that?
So no.
Odalia isn't stupid.
She just extremely selfish and has some serious self preservation skills.

My Brain at 2 am: Hey.
Me: What?
My Brain: So Eda’s had some pretty cute interactions with the Blight kids during the series...
Me: Don’t...
My Brain: And King had cute bonding moments with both Alador and Edric...
Me: No...
My Brain: Alador and Eda would probably really vibe though... Plus think of how pissed Odalia would be to be replaced by the Owl Lady, of all people...
Me: You already ship Alador x Darius and Raeda, cut that shit out!
My Brain: ...
Me: ...
My Brain: He was totally checking her out in Harpy mode at the brawl though...
