The Kuni-yuzuri ~ Transfer of earthly dominion from God on earth to God in heaven
The Kuni-yuzuri, literally meaning "Transfer of the land" was a mythological event in Japanese prehistory, related in sources such as the Kojiki and the Nihon Shoki. It relates the story of how the rulership of Japan passed from the earthly god (kunitsukami) to the god of Heaven (amatsukami) and their eventual descendants, the Imperial House of Japan.
This story is also known as Ashibara-no-Nakatsukuni Heitei (=settlement of the earth)
Amatsukami is the general name for the gods of the High Heavens, or those who descended from the high heavens, while Kunitsumi is the general name for the gods who appeared in the earth (Ashihara-no-Nakatsukuni).
In Japanese mythology, the anecdote of the transfer of the country is at best a "negotiation" and at worst a "battle" between the gods of heaven and the gods of earth over the right to rule.
In nature worship, it is recorded that earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes and other storms occur when the gods move, including some cleansing action. In Japanese mythology too, when the earlier Susanoo visited the high heavens to negotiate with Amaterasu, he caused an earthquake and a storm.
Over the past few years, including the recent Great East Japan Earthquake, Japan is currently experiencing a number of earthquakes and disasters.
We would like to believe that the gods are working for a "brighter future.”

国譲り~地上の神から天の神への地上支配権譲渡
"日本の先史時代の神話上の出来事であり、古事記や日本書紀などの資料にも記載されている。これは、日本の統治権が、国津神（地上の神、くにつかみ）から天津神（天の神、あまつかみ）とその子孫である日本の皇室に移っていったことを物語っている。
この説話は、葦原中国平定（あしはらのなかつくにへいてい）ともいう。
天津神（あまつかみ）は高天の原にいる神々、または高天原から天降った神々の総称、国津神（くにつかみ）は地（葦原中国、あしはらのなかつくに）に現れた神々の総称とされている。
日本神話において、国譲りの逸話とは天の神々と地上の神々の統治権をめぐった良く言えば「交渉」、手取り早く言えば「戦い」のことである。
自然崇拝においては、何らかの浄化作用を含め、神々が動く際には、地震、津波、竜巻等の嵐が起こると記録されている。日本神話においても、先の須佐之男（すさのおの）が天照大神（あまてらす）と交渉するために高天の原を訪問した際に地震と嵐を起こしている。
ここ数年に渡り、先の東日本大震災を含め、現在、日本では数々の地震や災害に見舞われている。
神々が、「明るい未来」のために動いているのだと信じたい。
