Unbelievable.... A nation of 140 crore people, and Indian blind cricket team winning the T20 World Cup still slips under the radar. Maybe glamour is the real sales point — no Jimah, no Smriti, no Harman, so obviously nobody’s interested or maybe it all comes from rural background....

Yet they STILL won a whole T20 World Cup today. Imagine that....

I have just gotten back from playing an international cricket ball tournament, it was my first time using the international ball for blind cricket. It was a wonderful experience, but thoroughly exhausting.

India’s women’s blind team to be selected

The first ever Indian women’s blind cricket team is set to be selected, with the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) accepting an invitation from Blind Cricket England and Wales (BCEW) for a women’s tour in July 2021.

The imminent selection of a national team adds significance to the women’s national championship to be held later this year.

This is a commendable achievement by any sporting standard, but more so for Varsha, who is visually impaired. In the jargon of blind cricket, she is a B1 category player, one who is completely sightless (B2 players are partially blind, with visibility up to 3m, while B3 players are partially sighted and can see up to 6m).
