Flowers?

Blain never had a favorite flower until she met Izadia. There is a cliche that the woman you love can inspire you to love what she does, but that was not what did it for Blaine. It was just that Blaine had never known how to look at flowers. Her family was far from sentimental, and flowers were just something you watched grow... or in her case die.

Now as she sat in her truck and chewed on the end of a flavored stick (Freddie had been kind enough to make her a few batches) and looked at the bright sunflowers rising up to greet the day, she saw what Izadia saw. Hope, love, and resilience. Or at least that's what Blaine took from Izadia's joyful ramblings on the flower.

She took a deep breath and wished the little stick actually helped with the cravings. She looked at the flowers who opened and stretched out to call to the sun. Even if it was overcast. Even if it had been overcast all week. They still opened up, let in the bees, and looked to the sky with love towards a sun they couldn't see. A sun they knew loved them back.

"Fuck it," she said, chomping down harder on the stick. "Ya can do this." She set her truck into reverse and headed out. If these Sunflowers could still pray to the sun, then she could do one simple job interview.

🍼 — taking care of children (For whomever you feel?)

Mirian:

Mirian is terrible with children. She is also great with them.

By this I mean that if a kid is into bugs and random gross science facts, Mirian will get along with them like a house on fire. Parents will likely wish they’d intervened. xD

If the kid isn’t into those things, Mirian will have no idea how to talk to them. And the responsibility of actual babies mildly terrifies her; she will usually decline if someone offers to let her hold one.

Ithadel:

Ithadel is passably good with children! He's respectful and (fairly) patient with children of all ages, and he knows how to look after babies and toddlers of several species.

All of that said, he's not comfortable around them. In addition to all the social hangups he has around everyone, he also has the additional concern of knowing that his actions and statements might literally shape their worldview. :'D And he struggles to loosen up well enough to truly engage in play.

Most of which boils down to him being a very good babysitter but not really equipped for actual guardianship/parenting.

Gerou:

Gerou adores kids, and has a fair amount of experience looking after his younger siblings and younger cousins.

He may have teared up the first time he met his newborn niblings.

He honestly wasn’t even sure whether he was cheered by the prospect—there were times when he felt incredibly taken for granted by some of the folk at the Spire—or irritated at the possibility that he was being supervised or something. Diamond had been getting downright parental since the incident with Clemcy, and not in a way Linast appreciated.

“...they’ll manage,” he decided. “I just — I don’t know. Wanted to go s-ssomewhere without feeling like I had to ask permission first, or without getting dragged there, and — it’s been a long time since we’ve done anything. I miss hanging out with you — I know it’s my fault, and I... still don’t really want to talk. About s-stuff. But. Do you want to go on a walk or anything?”

Side Notes: Please tell me about any muses I don’t know if you have something you want to try with them! My brain is currently thoroughly uncooperative when trying to read character descriptions, but it’s a lot easier when I have some sort of context or goal to frame things with. :’D ( @queenverdigris , same goes for you! I’ve read Rox’s stuff, but I’m afraid I haven’t gotten through many of your other muses. ^_^;)

Otherwise: I do still think introducing Masha to the Spire could be fun, yeah! And I’ll get in touch with you about the various AUs we’ve discussed. :D As for other notes... I hadn’t really thought about it until recently, but I do think Masha and Gerou could have some fun interactions/banter. And they both have a hoard of siblings to commiserate over, heh. It might be fun to come up with an AU to stick him in Masha’s verse; maybe they could be familiar with each other from one of her previous jobs or something?
