This wasn't how I would have preferred the match to play out but it's crazy to me that people are saying Ness had no development in the end. Ness admitting that he fed Kaiser easy passes (which goes in line with Kaiser being comfortable in their partnership) and making demands, making a pass that poses an actual challenge to the strikers on the field, a pass that draws on his creativity and his vision after suppressing it for so long, THAT IS DEVELOPMENT. That he still wanted it to be Kaiser to rise to that challenge does not negate the massive step forward he took, that it was Isagi instead to steal the ball and make the final goal does not negate that.

Ness said goodbye to Kaiser, yes but saying he's letting go and actually letting go are two very different things. He is not going to stop rooting for Kaiser from one moment to the next like have we forgotten that Kaiser is Ness' favorite player??? This was very much in-character for him. But the fact that he is now making his own demands, the fact we have confirmation he is a GENIUS MIDFIELDER, that's growth. That's development. It may be too little too late but I'm fucking proud of him and I can't wait to see where he goes next 😭

Ness wanted to offer his best version and his best pass for the new emperor, but what he didn't know is that the moment you bring out your best version you're already playing for Isagi.
