I don’t know how many of my followers are Canadian but even if you aren’t, please read and take action. Three protestors were arrested in Toronto today (July 18th) for peaceful protest and artistic demonstration against racist monuments. They were not told why they were being arrested, they did not arrive at the station for a whole hour after arrest (even though the station was two minutes away) and they were not allowed to access legal counsel for five hours after being arrested. So they were denied their right to know why they were arrested and their right to immediate legal counsel, despite repeated requests. Please call all these numbers, send emails, and demand that all three protestors be released and all charges against them be dropped. If you are in Toronto, bring a mask, some friends, and supplies and go join the rally outside 52 Division. Please share!

My Words To Black Lives Matter - Toronto A Year After They Got The Pride Parade To Block The Cops From Being In The Parade.

With Pride coming up I noticed people are starting to talk about your actions last year again and how it affects the police. I'm not black so maybe I have no business posting anything on this page but I wanted to thank you for finally taking a stand against the Toronto Police when no one else has been brave enough to so far.

I don't have your experiences but I have helped a roommate who had an arm broken and another badly injured by a cop because she held her girl friend by the waist and walked off of Church street. I visited friends who were taken to Cherry Beach by the police to have happen to them what also happened to so many others.

When I was in Grade 9 I was gay bashed on school grounds with some footage caught on camera; parents of other students encouraged other kids to join in as well. The police with all the evidence confirmed I was gay and then told my family I probably encouraged it cause I was gay and wanted attention. I know what type of beast the Toronto Police Service is, and how much they lie and spend to pretend otherwise.

We should have stood up long ago, we should have pushed the Pride Committee to stand up long ago. But we didn't...the Committee was to interested in city money and the rest of us...I don't know.

Anyhow, as others may rage and complain in the coming days I just wanted to be someone who says thank you for doing the right thing in the face of such adversity.

BLM Toronto showed up to the pride parade despite not registering. I guess these people are above the rules now, huh? That's nice...
