look, if i'd been a noble (or even a random peasant) in westeros, i'd probably be rooting for the downfall of the white-haired incestuous weirdos and their flying nukes too.

that's why i wish the show had explored more of what the books heavily imply: that there were overlapping interests between powerful noble houses (especially the hightowers), the faith + the maesters in diminishing the dragons and, eventually, targ dominance. there is no real balance of power when one family possesses living weapons of mass destruction. if the targaryens had remained united during rhaenyra's time, no coalition of great houses, knights, or smallfolk would've realistically stood a chance against them.

making the targaryens destroy themselves from within was always the most effective way to break their hold on power.

you guys, i’m so sorry for the lack of updates!! i promise i am writing, it’s just that wattpad has been refusing to work for me + the electricity keeps cutting out for hours at a time, so literally nothing is cooperating on my end :/ dw tho, i’m absolutely still continuing the fic! i just need consistent wifi, electricity that decides to stay on, and for wattpad to please get its act together so i can finally post the next chapter ;)

can i be honest for a second? i’m kind of dreading the day i have to start writing the spring sickness arc

not bc i hate the plot itself (i actually think it's a really important part of the story) but bc i have so many juicy things planned for what comes after it that i'm way more excited to write those instead…….

the spring sickness lasts around two years in canon, and i already know i'm not keeping it that long. i'll prob shorten it to about a year, or maybe even use some bigger time skips. i'm still figuring that part out.

obvi there are going to be heartbreaking moments because... well, it's the spring sickness. thousands die, king's landing basically turns into a cemetery and so many major characters are affected. but spoiler: i'm not killing daeron off from it.

i'm just wondering... would you guys hate me if i only did around 4/5 chapters for the whole arc and relied on larger time jumps? i know anicia being a healer gives me a lot to explore, but at the same time i don't want to drag the pacing when i have so much i'm dying to get to afterward :/

who knows tho. maybe once i actually sit down to write it, i'll end up loving it and come up with a bunch of new ideas. rn tho it's def the arc i'm looking forward to writing the least.

i feel like we don't talk about mary porter enough. that woman was literally passed around the mikaelson siblings lmao

when elena and damon were trying to figure out which original's bloodline they'd come from, kol mentions that mary had a thing with rebekah, him, and apparently even had affairs with elijah and klaus. like... that's actually insane (dare i say even a little bit incestuous??)

my biggest question is... do you guys think finn would've joined too??? 👀 bc from what kol says, she was basically an "original groupie” ….

also for some reason, i always struggle picturing elijah's freaky side, even though it's literally canon. every time the show reminds us he had a freaky side, i'm like, oh yh... i forgot ur not actually the permanently honorable gentleman you pretend to be. he's so polished and classy that hearing she had an “affair” with elijah gives me whiplash every single time

i wish we'd gotten more abt mary bc that's such a random but fascinating piece of lore. and the funniest part is cole calling her an original groupie, cause that implies there were other groupies too…

i kind of love that the originals are basically the celebrities of the vampire world. they're the vampires everyone knows about, everyone fears, and apparently... everyone wanted to hook up with

so apparently a certain account @rhaenaeya (that prob wants attention or is a bot) decided to make a whole post about my baelor fic because they claimed i tagged it as x reader... except i didn't. just to clear things up: my other baelor fic, Claw Marks, is tagged properly, and so is the reader version of Wide Awake. i went back and checked everything because i was genuinely confused. that’s why i don’t understand where this accusation is even coming from.

i'm not sure if we're even looking at the same page, bc this feels like creating unnecessary drama over nothing.

it's especially ironic when your own circle spends so much time making callout posts over tagging while your own tagging isn't exactly consistent either. I fear the call is coming from inside the house….

anyway, this is my one and only response because this whole thing is embarrassing. i’m already being petty enough by replying at all. or maybe the fic has just gotten popular enough to attract trolls like this. who knows.

edit : ‼️ i might take a little break bc this whole situation has genuinely pissed me off, the amount of entitlement over something that wasn’t even true is honestly wild.

ppl on ao3 take tagging seriously so if i had actually mistagged my fic, i would’ve heard about it in the comments a long time ago. i never received a single complaint because there wasn’t an issue to begin with

because of all this unnecessary drama, i won’t be updating either the reader version or the OC fic for now ‼️
